I was somewhat worried we were on a slow march to bombing Iran.

Probably to do with the fact that the sailors were captured during a big public holiday in Iran and thus the situation has only been resolved once all the various important religious and political types have got back to work.

Even the leader of the revolutionary guards was reportedly calling for the Britons to be released.

The futures traders will make ££s off it whatever, so they're unlikely to be bothered either way...

Just remember trading is a zero sum game - just because a certain market is going down doesn't in any way mean that a load of mega rich trader types are having a bad day - some of them will be raking it in on the back of this news.

It's sloppy thinking from some quarters alas. They seem to think that 'the traders' like 'high prices' and any drop is a blow agains them. Sadly these same people tend to be politically opinionated, which is not good news for the rest of us.
