QUite why you feel that having 2 english clubs in the highest ranking european game should demonstrate a weakness in the english game remains a mystery.

the quality - or lack of it - of the national side is an entirely separate issue to that of club strength in europe, and whilst it's an important issue, it's nowt to do with tonight's game.

Chelsea and United actually contain a large chunk of England's key players; Ferdinand, Terry, Ashley Cole, Joe Cole, Wes Brown (who is shit but never mind) Lampard, Hargreaves, Rooney, Wright-Phillips, Bridge, Carrick. In fact save for a goalie you could pick a formidable England XI with subs to spare from just these two teams. Go and tell Arsenal about English players, they're the ones who need that particular lecture.
