Champions league draw

1 villareal v arsenal
2 man utd v porto
3 liverpool v chelsea
4 barca v bayern munich

semis

winners of 1 play winners of 2
winners of 4 play winners of 3

Chuckle liverpool vs chelsea...

Great draw for Utd and too for Arsenal I think.

Will be great to watch Barca vs Bayern.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER-FINAL DRAW:
Villarreal v Arsenal
Manchester United v FC Porto
Liverpool v Chelsea
Barcelona v Bayern Munich

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI-FINAL DRAW:
Manchester United/FC Porto v Villarreal/Arsenal
Barcelona/Bayern Munich v Liverpool/Chelsea

Last 3 knock outs v Chelsea - Liverpool have won 2.
Last 2 knockouts v Barca - Liverpool have won 2.

Draw has done Liverpool no favours but the opposition won't be too keen either.

firm believer in the law of averages...also notice that between you and chelsea the team playing at home last goes through...I think your going out my ol son...still least you've got last weekend to remember

If Villarreal beat Arsenal - which could easily happen - Utd would be laughing with that semi final. Don't fancy playing either Liverpool or Chelsea but Bayern will be a test for us, but one I think we'll win home and away

Great draw for United with the added bonus of that the scousers and the rent boys have to pour energy into a grinding war of attrition again. :D

It's just after 11

who do you want???

the draw i want is:

Chelsea v Liverpool

Barca v Arsenal

(the winners play each other in the semi)

Man U v Porto

Villareal v Beyern

that way T Henry gets to play against his old club, Liverpool chelsea play again

and Utd get the easiest route to the final and if they make it there you get the best final!

What makes you so sure that Man U will beat us? I reckon even Benficista will be with us on this one.

moan utd's record v porto in the CL is won 2, drawn 2, lost 2. And they're wobbling at the moment too - beating porto is no foregone conclusion

Not sure about wobbling...we lost our last game I suppose...if that's a wobble. Porto is still going to be a tough challenge (they are also 4pts clear in the Portuguese Liga I think) so indeed it's not a definate progression for Manchester United but I think we are saying we have a better chance against Porto than the other teams in the draw...which I think is just being honest.

Good draw for Arsenal. We'll dick on Villarreal and, for some reason, United are always an easy team for us to beat so I'm not worried about the semi.

Just remember we have nothing to lose and a lot to gain, especially by beating Man U.

Not again.

Still, by the time we've done with Chelsea and knocked out Barcelona once more, if Man Utd do make it to the final they will be shitting themselves. :D

Fuck sake, Chelsea again! Getting a bit ridiculous now, United have the easier route but I'm quietly confident we can get to the final.

Surely you have the same amount to lose or gain as we do

Man U have the expectation that we will be a walkover, they have the reputation of being one of the best, if not the best, in europe. We are a relatively small team in what some would argue is an unimportant league.

If we lose then people will say it was expected, and if we win we will (hopefully) prove that we are a force to be reckoned with, not treated with such disdain. After all we got to this position by beating other teams, it was not a gift!

Forca Porto!

I had no expectation whatsoever for the draw, as every team would look at us as the minnows from the poorlands, and Porto would have low odds against any other team, so picking one would be pointless.

For all that matters, anything can happen. We've beaten Utd before twice, were only knocked out by Chelsea a couple of years ago after a gigantic blunder from Helton, Liverpool in 2006 were knocked out clean by Benfica, and while not saying Porto will win it, if Utd keeps dropping points in the prem and isn't allowed to go easy on weekend matches, we might have a chance.
And Atlético also thought they got the "good" draw, and even the spanish press agrees both results were too flattering to them.

My main concern are the wingbacks - not if they're that good at all to begin with (which they aren't), but if they'll even be fit enough to play.
