Chambers qualifies for Olympics

What country did his family originate from? Perhaps he could get citizenship from that country?

I think it's perfectly justified to ban him for life. He knew the rules of the BOA, and he cheated. Screw him, quite frankly. I'd rather someone like Craig Pickering or a similar young sprinter got the experience than Chambers.

Give it up Dwayne, just give it up.

We'll always be left to wonder what would have happened it he HADN'T cheated and spent the last three years doing what he does best and not fannying about playing American Football and Rugby League. It's just a shame.

Cheating whiny little twat IMO. He knew he was cheating, he knew what the penalty was by the BOA (which IMV should be adopted by the IOC), and he still cheated, and now he's crying about it.

Oh, I don't know. He made a mistake and was punished hard. As an athlete he only has a very limited time at the top and a lifetime ban seems a tad harsh, especially considering the mass of contradictory sentences handed out for other drug cheats.

In fact, in some ways I'd say he's gone on to become a good role model. He tried to cheat and con people, got caught out and was rightly punished and humiliated, but had the strength to come back and prove that he could win races fair and square.

Modern athletes are put under terrible pressure and it's not surprising that some young ones crack, but a lifetime ban over a 3-5 yr ban still seems pretty damn harsh to me. They don't do it in most other sports, so what's so different about athletes?

Would he have stopped cheating if he hadn't been caught though? In most these cases remorse only comes after being found guilty.

I think its fair enough. Atheltics has a massive problem with steriods and a few people getting excessive bans may be the only way to curb this.

With any luck this case will serve as a deterent for other young british athletes. Get caught cheating lose your dreams. He can still have a carear in athlectis just not the glory and prestige thats attached to being an olympian.
