Now that he is dead, I actually appreciate Robin Cook a lot more than I did when he was alive.
As for this decision, its utter nonsense - no part more so than Miliband's complete twattery about us not condoning the actions of 30-40 years ago but nonetheless vigorously and almost unprecedentedly opposing any attempt to fix those actions.
I agree on both counts.
I once stayed in the same hotel as Robin Cook but never met him. I wish I had now (assuming he'd given me the time of day, he could be quite grumpy on occasions); he was a genuinely interesting and profound thinker as evidenced by the columns he used to write for the Guardian about green issues and such like.
