Yay she is very good. I'm listening to her now and have managed to catch her a few times these past few weeks as she has been standing in for a few folk.

It's so pleasant to have someone on the radio who:
(a) clearly loves music
(b) can interview artists and soundds genuinely interested and can ask interesting questions and not interrupt them every few seconds
(c) has a pleasant, relaxing style that doesn't annoy the fuck out of me

I wish they'd dump that fucking cunt George Lamb and give her a full time job. She's really brightening my morning - asking listeners to recognise birdsong has got to be better than a chortling fuckwit shouting "Shabba" all the time (even if she gloriously fucks it up the whole time "What birdsong is this seagull?")

I am liking Cerys. I'm in love with her accent regardless. She does seem to have the benefit of more free range with the playlist. Not sure if Lamb gets the same allowance (if he does, its probably what he fills with dancehall)
I have mixed opinions about Lamb. I really get what everyone is saying about what a prick he is. But I quite like people who are grating in a certain strange way. I used to really like Bam Bam on Kiss (and Capital). He used to regularly get thrown off air for upsetting people, swearing, generally being a tit. But he was a prankster who make me laugh for annoying people all the same.
I think George Lamb would be better suited to a once a week weekend slot to be honest. Like Adam & Joe, but not as funny.

Lamb knows fuck all about music and that's the main problem I have with him.
BBC6 Music is supposed to be about, err, the music, not grating, overbearing egos and Radio One-style 'personality' jocks backed by a gang of chortling brown nosers.

I would have Cerys over Lamb anytime also. And I do have issues with the way 6Music is not a genuinely playlist free station and doesn't let DJs who do have a vast knowledge of tunes play what they want most of the time (see pervious thread ranting about how many times the Lemonheads are played for example).
I'm just saying what I find sometimes amusing about Lamb. He's not suited to that slot granted. If I had my way, there would be a lot more rotation of DJs and a completely free playlist all day and all night.

Lamb's rubbish - what is the purpose of those two assistants in his studio? Are they only there to laugh at his jokes and for him to take the piss out of?
