Central American Dictator Leaves Office - news from Cuba

Che was a fuck IIRC .

Fidel effectively gave him his marching orders to keep him away from Cuba , after his disastrous tenure as finance minister

Che met with members of the IRA at Shannon during a change of planes I think - just like Elvis did at prestwick

Elvis met Che? I'd love to have been a fly on the wall. Maybe neither of them are dead. Maybe they've been holed up together writing revolutionary rockabilly songs.

Do you have a source for this? The books I have read all say that Che left of his own accord to pursue his dream of revolution as he had been ill-suited to government.

Basically Fidel wasn't sorry to see him go, nor was he too punctilious about keeping him supplied in the Bolivian jungle.

He went to Congo first, remember, with some Cuban support. I think this is something of a misrepresentation. Che left Cuba with Castro's best wishes.

Wait there - I phrased this all wrong

Elvis never met with The IRA.

Che never met Elvis

Che didnt serve in germany in the US army

But they did both step foot on the British isles whilst transiting to somehwere else

Now I could be making this up...but...the rumour re Raul and Cienfuegos referred to above and my vague recollection of Che's involvement...would it it pushing it to recall hearing that Fidel helped Che on his way to avoid Che probing too much into the affair?

Did I read that in some book on Che?

I might have.

I think - this is where is all get a bit blurry - teh Soviets wanted Che out of the picture as his was, as Mr Dwyer said, "unsuited to government" - It would seem Che was given free reign to spread revolutuion woroldwide, as long as he kept his distance from Cuba itself

sort of like getting assigned to " special projects" at the workplace

hardly as bad at the procession of vindictive nasty greedy cunts who have battered with island into near stone age by half a century of blockades

Indeed - I went there on hols. just after the Russians finally realised that it was much better to buy cheap EU sugar beet to produce sugar and sell their oil rather than swap their petroleum products with Castro for sugar cane.

The spineless Russians had just become public enemy number one.

Solidarity - ho ho

A truly wicked man, I can't wait until he kicks the bucket.

I reckon once he goes, the regime will die with him. Another nail in the coffin for socialism - thank fuck.

Let's hope all those who use and abuse the beauty of humanity go, in their own time, the same way and are never replaced. If you see once 'evil' you must see all 'evil', picking and choosing your favourites on the basis of relative good and bad is a poor and shonky way to base your principles.

:(

You should not underestimate the repressive effect of totalitarianism. It turns a whole population into intellectual pygmies, unable to discuss anything but trivia even with close friends or family members. In fact, truly close friendship becomes a rarity as everyone is kept at a safe distance from your real thoughts. It is pervasive and insidious.

Yes, now if you don't mind I have a copy of Vogue to read. :D

Jerry Falwell once described Canada as the "Cuba of the North" and mentioned its tolerance towards homosexual deviants and embracing communism - i think he also described Pierre Trudea as a commie - so you Mr canuck , you are clsoer than you think to the Cubans

Why, because Jerry Falwell says it's so?

Grab a brain, moran!:D
