Celtic v Milan incident

The guy also dissapeared into the crowd apparently and wasn't caught.

So how do we know it was a Celtic fan then? I'd think its more likely to be a rangers fan myself

Everyone knows rangers fans burst into flame the minute their feet touch the hallowed turf

I'd imagine 99.99% of all Celtic fans want the pitch invader banned right now too.

not any of the celtic fans i saw the game with in an irish pub up archway last night. they were all cheering the guy and saying along the lines of "he'll never have to buy a pint again as long as he lives".

come one, the guy was probably just bevvied and his high spirits got the better of him in the heat of the moment.

i'm no big football fan but that was a top game and that boy running onto the pitch, followed by Dildo's fanny fall was the icing on the cake as far as me and everyone else in the pub was concerned.

PS: LOL at the refernces to the fan 'being let onto the pitch' like he was a lion in some Roman amphitheatre or something. :D

he didn't hit the player, you need to get out of the house more

The intention was there.

I'm at work...so I guess that counts as out of the house. Twat :D

Then they're fuckwits too. What kind of twat cheers on a moron 'fan' attacking a player?

No doubt they'll also be cheering the punishment that Celtic get dished out because of this clown, yes?

but noone attacked a player.

one high-spirited celtic fan ran on and did that 'tapping someone on the shoulder then they look round and you're on the other side' thing folk used to do at school, especially to someone who'd played in goal and let a load of balls in in.

for a laugh.

He could hardly claim ignorance of the likely consequences for his actions.

Och, everyone does a few daft things when they've had a few drinks that they later regret. Sure you have mate.

No need for the boy to be hung, drawn and quartered for what was just a wee heat-of-the-moment joke.

i am not claiming that, i am claiming though that he did not hit him, as in a punch or slap or intending harm, it seemed more like over exuberance, if that is the right phrase

i would not consider it an attack

You're missing the point. If it becomes OK for this pisshead to come on the pitch and give a player a 'friendly' slap as a 'joke', then you can hardly complain if lots more people decide to join in the fun and we end up with the fucking fencing back in place.

And, no, no matter how pissed and excited I've been at football, it's never crossed my mind to run on the pitch and attack/slap/pat any players from the other team.

We're all supposed to be beyond that kind of thing now.

I don't think he meant to hurt the guy either, but if you're stupid enough to run on the pitch like that, you can't complain if you get banned.

If that goalie hadn't been such a shit actor and instead gone down when he was touched and made it look convincing, Celtic could have been kicked out of the competition.

i've wanted to slap a few refs :o

Of course some of us have done silly things at football, but you accept the consequences. Going on the pitch in a high profile game like that, regardless of your intention, is likely to result in a ban at the very least.

The fact that this lad's actions have overshadowed Celtc's result is hilarious.

a life time ban my fucking arse, what knee jerk bollox, we allow murderers and rapists a second chance but not eejit running onto the pitch with no intention of hurting anyone?

ban him for a year or something but a life ban is bollox.

anyway,

Ban the fan and give Dida some sort of ban too. I'm sick of cheating fuckers like that.

Gilardino's dive was even funnier.

And that's the daftest thing: a famous victory gets over shadowed by a prick who can't control himself!

What a stupid post. Think it through before you get so simplistic and label someone who actually did fuckall wrong with no malice a prick. It's attitudes like yours that are prick like in this context IMO.

Eh? The rules are pretty clear, how did this geezer do 'fuckall wrong'?

Yeah he went on the pitch because he got carried away actually being at the game and seeing Celtic score a very important goal.
Ban him for a few games or the season even if you have to be seen to do the right thing. Is it an automatic life ban to go on the pitch ? If it is I'll shut up.
If it isn't banning the bloke for life is pathetic and will no doubt be a decision made by middle class suits who wouldn't fraternise with the likes of working class pricks who can't control themselves thus overshadowing a fab victory at the footy .. leave it aht!!

We buy tickets for footie knowing full well it's not on to go on the pitch (unless it's the last game of the season, at home). We also know that an incident like last night can lead to points deducted or being chucked out of a competition.

It's nothing to do with suits/middle class/prawn cocktails.

Think the point is, if he gets off with it lightly whats to stop someone else doing it - possibly with the same (seemingly) innocent intentions but who happens to make more contact with the player. The consequences in those circumstances are quite serious.

Nice patronisation of both 'middle class suits' and 'working class pricks who cant control themselves' btw.

Can you explain your point re the incident again .. I understood the patronisation bit though !

Its kinda clear what i wrote innit? :p The guy had to be used as an example. simple. a deterrent to other would be 'working class pricks who can't control themselves'
