Celtic v Milan incident

The fan should be banned for life, Celtic given a fine and the goalie publicly reprimanded for ungentlemanly/unsporting conduct, IMO.

You are joking surely?

It was just a harmless bit of fun. The guy just tapped Dildo on the shoulder. where's the harm in that? It's not like he punched him or anything. Lighten up FFS.

I'm sure you'd consider it a "harmless bit of fun" had it been a Rangers fan, eh?

Actually, it probably WAS a Rangers fan!

dude enetered field of play will get banned for life and i presume celtic will get a fine for failing to control thier fans, that should be the end of it though. No poits deducted, bans or anything silly.

Dida is a cunt.

Anyways, that Dildo part i hear is laughable, but i feel some are missing the point that NO spectators are allowed on the pitch at any time.
Whether he hit him or not its still an infringement of the rules that every fan is aware of.
The club under the current rules will be punished. Our club got fined for fans that ran onto the pitch in a game so that should stand, no more i suggest. Unless they 'change' the rules again. :)

No-ones missing the point at all. The OP said so even. I was simply seperating the fact a fan got on the pitch and Dida's massive fucking over reaction...

When did it become such a hanging offence for fans to get on the pitch?

It's always happened and i'm sure it always will.

It's just high-spirits. just a bit of fun :)

But you can't allow that sort of behaviour - the next fucker might be carrying a knife or anything - we all know the rules that no one but the players and officials are allowed on the pitch - what where the stewards doing FFS, having a smoke and a chat probably !

I agree Dida totally over reacted - bet he's abit sheepish when he sees the replays !

As for someone above who claimed that Celtic have the best fans in the World - it's amazing how many (British) clubs claim that.

If you're stupid enough to enter the field of play in a Europeam match and attack and strike a player - no matter how lightly or 'playfully' - you deserve a life ban. End of.

Who knows what the next pitch invader might be carrying?

Er....why don't you have another look at that post.

 yeah, a bit of fun which cost QPR thousands a couple of seasons ago.

its an offence, however 'fun' you might think it.

you cant start saying "its ok to run on the pitch if you are just gonna jump up and down/do bad dancing/streak/tap a player on the shoulder....but you cannot run on the pitch if you are gonna strike a player with force/streak with a bad physique/brandish a weapon"

you can't ban a club for the actions of one idiot....if that were the case and it ever looked like Pool / Chelsea were going to get to the final, I'd buy a ticket, leg it on the pitch, give the keeper and cheeky backhander and waggle my ol boy at his prostrate form.....:)

It's a criminal offence stepping on the pitch, just ban him for a while.

ban him for life I say.

Fuck him.

He came on the pitch - that's not on. I'm old enough to remember getting crammed into grounds with fences, which was a direct response to fans running on the pitch. Look what happened at grounds with fences!!!

If fans didn't run on the pitch all those years ago - who knows - those Liverpool fans that died at Hillsborough would probably still be alive today.

We don't want to go back there and this guy needs the fucking book thrown at him!

:o

less on the frailty of them two what about your boys last night:)

Why should Celtic be punished? I dont think they could have done anything to stop the fan getting on the pitch. He was not "let on to the pitch" as someone posted earlier - this guy just ran on the pitch. EVeryone on here who goes to games knows that it is impossible to stop people going on the pitch if they really want to. Most footy grounds have a low wall and a few stewards scattered about - you simply cant stop people getting on the pitch. The only alternative is fences everywhere and we don't want that, and not just because of what happened at Hillsborough.

It is illegal under English law to go on the pitch and so the guy should be prosecuted as anyone else should be and Celtic can take whatever action against him is in their policy - prob a life ban. But I really dont think you can punish Celtic for this.

No offence but Hillsborough did not occur because of fans running onto the pitch, it happened because the footballing authorities, and the Government, thought it was acceptable to control and segregate fans by putting them in a cage (one might point out that there is, as has been proved by this incident, nothing stopping fans getting onto the pitch now).

Nor is there anything wrong with people running onto the pitch in certain circumstances, like the last-day escapes of Everton and, more recently, West Brom, which were more to do with mass jubilation (as this was, to be honest).

In any case, I really think it would be excessive to ban someone for life for what was just a joy-filled prank. Noone who would want to stab a player / manager / fan is going to be dissuaded by "but if I go on the pitch I'll get banned for life" anyway. That said, I can see Celtic clobbering him just to show to UEFA that they shouldnt get clobbered themselves.

The guy got on because the stewards attention was naturally drawn to the scrum on the opposite side of the pitch where the Celtic players were celebrating down in the corner.

...and award it to Cardiff City.

That seems fair to me.

As Aerosmith once sang - dream on. Cardiff City? You're having a laugh. Ho, ho.

Put the fan in stocks in the Saltmarket. Or outside the London pub by the ground. Fucking A1 arsehole.

Their keeper? Fuck him. Can't be arsed.

...let's celebrate a fine, fine victory for the mighty Hoops!

Hail! Hail!

He will be banned & hopefully he got the shite kicked out of him when he jumped back into the crowd & then handed over to the police.
A fine is the best we can hope for. Our previous good record, winning the Fair Play Award in 2003 should help us. But if it doesnt & we get right royally fucked then i think their will be a lynching in the East End.

it will happen though, it happened at loftus road. just as celtic will be fined. its their responsibilty to prevent fans from getting on the pitch.

i cant belive the debate is about this, anyway, the real outrage is fucking dido

He probably will but that shouldn't take away from the fact a fan was let on to the pitch and went to hit a player. Nice that AC don't want to complain...funny how they did when it was Inter :D :D :D

he didn't hit the player, you need to get out of the house more
