Celtic 2008-2009

Bit disappointing we couldnt take advantage of their slip up yesterday but the Arabs have been giving us hard games for the past couple of seasons.
Looks like its going down to the wire again.

Pleased to still have the three point lead after this weekend tbh. Wasn't expecting much from the game today so yesterday was a real bonus.

we're considerably better than them

so why are there only 3 points in it?

so many fans want strachan to go, but if he wins us 4 in a row i'd be happy to keep him for another season
will he stay though?

He nearly left at the end of last season so think he will leave this year. Even though winning the SPL gains you entry in the CL, it's still quite a poor league compared to the Premiership and I think Strachan wants to manage there.

Aye, he seems to talk about the EPL a lot in interviews and I suspect that's where his heart really is. I can't help but wonder if he could actually get a job with a decent club down there though. I think that Martin O' Neil getting the Aston Villa job was as much about his achievements with Leicester as they were about his time with us.

I've been on the pro-Strachan end of timdom for most of the last four years but I'm finally starting to wonder if maybe we should start looking at other options. We have a lot of good players, but over the last two seasons we seem to be getting more erratic and more likely to turn in indifferent performances. I don't know if Strachan really knows how to fix this. Or if maybe his time in the EPL relegation zone has just built a tolerance for it.

Given Rangers financial problems and general lack of quality, we really should be doing much better than them.

We really should be horsing this league and putting that mob in obscurity for years. I wonder if Strachan just can't be bothered any more, 3 in a row and still a sizeable proportion of the fans want him to go. O'Neill got away with a lot more than Strachan has, perhaps a few better decisions during O'Neill's reign and we'd be going for 9 not 4

Pity he isn`t an Irish Catholic then you could all get behind him. As for horsing the league Rangers should be horsing it but it`s Smith`s lack of tactics which have us where we are.

For the vast majority of his critics his religion has nothing to do with it you sad little man. Can't remember religion being the issue for Dalgleish, Barnes, Jansen, Macleod, Eric Black, but carry on dribbling. As for Strachan, he's a very lucky manager who has faced 3 seasons against arguably the worst Rangers squad over the past near 30 years. The finances of both clubs not allowing either to buy the players both want. Celtic are financially less worse off than Rangers as such have been able to buy the players 'good enough' to win, so far, 3 leagues in a row against a financially and talent depleted Rangers squad. The squad he thinks is 'good enough' is clearly not. His tactical decisions are appalling, his contunuing 'faith' in Mcmanus is mystifying.

Rangers are awful at the moment and you know it. The Hearts team under Burley and the Hibs team under Mcleish would give the current Rangersa and Celtic squads a serious challenge.

You know, I was just thinking this thread needed more stupid accusations.

We were almost in danger of having a sensible discussion about football for a minute there.

Smith is a dinosaur. Plays players out of position, buys players for positions we have too many players for and buys players and does not play them. The worst celtic team i have ever seen and he can`t beat them. Poor manager and should have walked after Kaunus.
