Glens friendly with Celtic is off

Alan McDonald's Glentoran side has missed out on playing Celtic
Glentoran's planned friendly against a Celtic XI at the Oval on 23 July has been postponed, BBC Sport understands.

The Scottish champions are now likely to fulfil a prior arrangement to play Donegal Celtic at Suffolk Road on the same date.

McCourt reveals Celtic move shock

McCourt was stunned to discover Celtic were keen on him
New Celtic recruit Pat McCourt admits he was surprised to be given the chance to join his boyhood heroes.

The 24-year-old winger last week agreed a three-year deal with the Premier League champions after Derry City were paid an undisclosed fee.

"It was a shock but a good shock," said a delighted McCourt.

"It's something that I've always dreamt about my whole life and to get the opportunity to come play for this club was unbelievable."

McCourt joined Rochdale at the age of 16 and attracted the attention of top English clubs before injury and a loss of form saw his career stall.

just booking a trip to Glasgow with the in-laws for the weekend of the game against Aberdeen, and an escape plan seems in order, for a few hours at least. Are tickets always just £25? Bargain bloody price if so, less than some Tranmere games! Will i get one easy enough if I can talk mrs belboid round? Seems worth a visit to the park at least once

You can usually pick up spares at face value in the car park from the supporters' club buses from England and Ireland. :)

No idea what this season's prices are, as I can't get up until October-ish. :(

Hail! Hail!

I know this might sound weird, and as it happens I am currently drunk, but on the basis of that ridiculous mess of an old firm game I think we're going to win the league again this year.

After the disappointment of the last couple of seasons, including an abandoned day trip to Manchester to see the bright lights, I am proud to follow (Follow!) a team so sporting, in the Tradition of the Founding Fathers, that we gave our neighbours a much-needed headstart this campaign.

Hail! Hail!

Was great alright. Was watching the Celtic game on T.V. and all of a sudden the fans started going nuts towards the end, just knew Cally had grabbed one. Back on track for the league. :D

Was listening to the game last night and didn't initially catch that it was Caley who had been awarded a penalty. Just about fell off my chair when I did hear.

Not getting ahead of myself though, Celtic have disappointed us all plenty of times before.

There was no doubt about it though, watched the highlights this morning. Dunno what Weir was thinking with the header that got him in trouble initially.

So once again only one team can win the treble. WE ARE THE PEOPLE;)

Think of it as less a 1-0 defeat to St Mirren in the cup, and more a 7-1 victory for Celtic over two legs. ;)

Of course, typical Celtic means I have to grasp at that particular wispy straw. :D

I didn't think Celtic would win the league last season so I hope they prove me wrong again.
