Celtic 0 Man Utd 3

i still dont quite understand the whole
'celtic were taught a lesson in football and its amazing they fluked a goal to win'

im not for a minute going to say that paul telfer is as good as gary neville, or that bobo balde is as good as rio ferdinand
(tell the truth- i got really excited when i heard caldwell wasnt playing- then they said bobo would be and i just had to laugh)

we dont have anyone of the calibre of say, wayne rooney

but the point of football is to score goals.

united- with all their posession- did fuck all.
in the first half- we were terrible
out midfielders went a little bit awol
sno- ineffective
gravesen- a little lost at times

it was hardly a 'fluke' goal
nakamura is a phenomenal free kick taker

united didnt score their penalty...
oh woe is me

fuckit

we won

and editor- for all the quotes you've been posting from the record and whoever else
someone from the bbc saw it our way

BBC said:
Celtic were uncharacteristically timid in their approach, playing with two solid blocks of four and providing nothing for their strikers.

Neither goalkeeper had been threatened until an ambitious 20-yard volley from United's Wayne Rooney skidded narrowly wide on 29 minutes.

A mistake from Bobo Balde then allowed Cristiano Ronaldo to race in on goal

Who said their goal was 'flukey'?

It was a great goal, brilliantly taken.

But not this person from the BBC:
Celtic's win was a triumph for persistence, resilience, bravery and admittedly good fortune.

In fact, in the first 45 minutes they propped up Celtic as they wobbled in the face of United's onslaught...

Ferguson's side produced a Rolls Royce first-half performance, but for all the passing and domination, they barely to created a serious chance...

And even if they do, I do not see United winning the Champions League this season, despite some of the slick passing football offered up at a vibrant Parkhead.

If they lose games to inferior opposition after exerting almost total domination, how will they beat the more dangerous opponents they may face in the knockout phase?

Celtic qualifying for the last 16 of the Champions League is great news.

It's great for Celtic and their fans.

It's great for Scottish football.

And it's great for all the other teams that make the last 16, most of whom will be desperate to draw the Scottish playmakers.

I thought celtic didn't play well, but then neither did Man Utd particularly.

I thought we were fortunate to win. Boruc had three saves to make (from Ronaldo, Saha and Saha again for the penalty) but you I don't remember Van der Saar being particularly troubled either.

I thought that Nakamura saved the game from being a 0-0 draw. I don't think Celtic were particularly lucky not to have conceded. Man Utd were able to open us up at times but always seemed to lack something in the final third.

So, I don't think we were outclassed. But I'm not 100% sure that our play over the course of the game warranted the result. It was a goal worthy of winning any game though.

It will be the funniest thing ever if ManUre crash to Benfica and fail to qualify for the knock-out phases, having won their first three games. More unpaid interest to be piled on that dodgy Glazer financing of his takeover of the club. :D
