Rula must go - what the hell was she doing in there in the first place? I'm old enough to remember her when she was a bit of a celebrity, but when I saw her in the house, even I thought 'where the hell did they dig her up from?', so the kids must've thought 'who she?'. And after watching her on BB I'm wondering the same thing, as well as 'why?'. Be gone you miserable old bag!

Okay, a couple of early polls for you:

Times Online:
Traci: 38%
Ziggy: 31%
Maggot: 31%

DigiSpy:
Ziggy: 49.22%
Maggot: 34.12%
Traci: 16.67%

Hmm. Very early days yet, but our first conclusion should be that maybe Maggot isn't quite safe yet. The predominantly young, female voter base evict women 9 times out of 10, but he's perhaps worth a covering bet at 20/1. His odds are ludicrously long and plenty can happen between now and friday.

Times Online has a reasonably old, media-savvy constituency, hence Traci coming out ahead of Rula - they actually know who Rula is outside of the house. Digispy are a bit mental and obsessive but have, I think, a larger and younger user base. They do seem to have a Traci love-in going on down there at the moment but I think their antipathy towards Rula probably reflects better the potential voting patterns of the GBP.
I'm all BB'd out for now. Real life beckons. :D

I'm in my early 30s (just) and the extent of my memory of her is that she was once on 'Jackanory' and that she used to be married to Dennis Waterman.

Micheal IMO has done far more "wrong" than any of the current nomanies, and why on earth was Maggot nominated for making Chantelle feel stupid when Pete intententionally ripped in to her. Oh, apart from the fact that GG, Pete and Micheal seem to have some (most likely mutually suspicious) coalition going on.
because if they upset Pete theyd have to deal with the aftermath which wouldnt have been pretty.
I wish one of the spineless bastards would stand up to him.
At least Jodie tried, albeit not very well becuase her emotions got the better of her but none of the others have tried its all yeah pete or ignoring him

They did IQ tests on some of the housemates during the scientific experiment task, and apparently Jodie Marsh did significantly better than Tracy.
Jodie Marsh is brilliant. :)

Well, firstly IQ tests don't neccessarily denote intelligence - just how good you are at IQ tests. Secondly, going on that Jodie's score was a whole 2 SDs above the mean, making her score (scientifically) significant above the mean. If Tracy got an IQ of, say, 120, that's still not bad.

And as I have said with Tracy, it's quite possible that if she's been dumbing down her intelligence for quite some time then she's got out of practice at those sorts of questions, iyswim...

I'd also go out for a drink with Jodie, though likewise, I'm not sure if we'd actually end up getting on due to differences of opinion on things.

Innit - I've always felt that this method of gauging 'intelligence' was fatally overrated. For a start, it makes no measure of emotional articulacy, which I feel is an essential aspect of the human mind.

In the 70's she was in a tv series called Rock Follies about a female vocal group - she was one of them. It was quite big at the time, there was even an album released from it which did pretty well IIRC. After that, never heard any more of her apart from the odd celeb thing about being Mrs Waterman.

why the hell a woman with a psychology degree with Harvard says that her favourate book is "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus". ;)

Apparently she dropped out of Harvard, after a year and a half LINK

although actually getting into Harvard must be no mean feat :)

Okay, I've just seen the content of tonight's CBB Highlights show. Rula came out neutral, Maggot got a reasonably bad edit (but at least he did something) but the good news is that they're not showing any of Traci's loonier drunken wobbles from last night (she was bloody annoying actually). Instead they're focusing on Pete's vicious, lengthy personal attack on her (it's at the end of the show and it's nasty as fuck). She'll get the sympathy vote and Rula's share will suffer as a result.
Not much has really happened today so far, so tomorrow's highlights shouldn't affect things one way or another. I'll update some polls soon, but these are the latest odds - note that Rula's odds have come in to the extent that she's now clear fave to go. Tonight's show should hasten things:

Ziggy Stardust: 1.83
The Bing: 2.48
Maggot: 18.00

Rula to go, I think. :)

Updated polls (who do you want to see GO?):

AOL: Ziggy 40%, La Bing 37%, Maggot 23%
DigitalSpy: Ziggy 45.5%, Maggot 33.9%, La Bing 20.6%
SpecialBet: Rula 43%. La Bing 34.7%, Maggot 22.2%.
Times Online: Get your fingers out please.

I'd say the SpecialBet and AOL polls come closest to the likely reality. Please note that these polls are largely pre-tonights show.

Latest *oddsflash*

Ziggy: 1.54 (odds plummeting after tonight's show - slightly unfair as she wasn't really in it)
La Bing: 2.9 (steady climb after a very favourable edit and tears before bedtime)
Maggot: 18.5 (does anyone really care?)

RULA. TO. GO. Back of the net. More updates tomorrow. :)

Two poll updates for ya and a fresh one:

Digispy (to go): Ziggy 44.50%, La Bing 21.09%, Maggot 34.41%
SpecialBets ("who do you want to go?") Ziggy 43.3%, La Bing 37.8%, Maggot 18.9%
SpecialBets ("who do you think will go?") Ziggy 38.9%, La Bing 58.7%, Maggot 2.4%.

Betfair odds:

Ziggy 1.55
La Bing 2.84
Maggot 34.00

So we're seeing a slight narrowing at the moment. I still think Rula will go, but as usual a lot depends on the final highlights edit - I'll post a brief summary when I get the details. Should they so desire they could show a lot of footage of Traci whinging, although based on yesterday's show that's unlikely. I'd advise anyone who has money on Rula to get a saver on Traci before fiveish when the highlights news breaks - cautious, but it'll save any tears before bedtime. :)

Okay, first news on tonight's edit is that there's a lot of bitchiness towards Traci shown on it - same deal as yesterday. I haven't got hold of the summary yet, but this sounds like good news: public sympathy for Traci should see Rula safely evicted.

p.s. could someone post on this bleedin' thread so I don't end up with five in a row. Thank you. :D

Last polls. Promise.

Big Brother Online: Maggot 21%, Ziggy 48%, Traci 31%
Yahoo: Maggot 21%, Ziggy 47%, Traci 32%
MSN: Maggot 20%, Ziggy 47%, Traci 33%
AOL: Maggot 23%, Ziggy 43%, Traci 34%.

That looks like a fairly broad consensus to me. :)

To be honest Traci should go but Pete saved her with the slagging and she turned on the waterworks and made us all realise that she really is the disillusioned pair of tits she claims to be.

Maggot won't go because they haven't got him pissed enough to start a fight yet and he's popular with the yoof :p

Rula is going imo

*Spoiler* - Highlights From Tonight’s Show, Friday 20th January
MAGGOT, RULA and TRACI face eviction tonight, but who will the public vote out?

Join Davina McCall at 9pm tonight (Friday 20 January, Channel 4) to hear the result of the public vote. The first housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother house will have 30 seconds to leave the house, before being greeted by Davina, friends and family and the awaiting crowd.

Highlights from tonight’s show, Friday, 20 January, 9pm Channel 4

•Rula attempts to make amends with George
•Traci is struggling with being nominated
•Who will leave tonight?

Day 15
5.01am
Traci is still awake from the night before. She is keeping everyone in the bedroom awake by talking to herself and Maggot about the fact that she’s been nominated, she tells Maggot she can’t sleep, and then keeps trying to wake him up to talk. Chantelle tells her to ‘Shh’ and says they’ll talk about it in the morning…

9.36am
The housemates are awoken by the tune, Leftbank II. Michael is playing percussion on the taps in the kitchen, Pete dances along and then goes into the bedroom to have words with Traci as soon as she wakes up. Dennis says, “all my troubles seem so far away.” Pete walks around the room saying, “now thousands of people are jamming telephone lines saying, ‘out with Traci’.”
Dennis tells Traci she “f*cked up” by keeping everyone up in the night. Meanwhile, Pete is talking about Traci to Rula and Preston.

11.14am
Rula is talking about George. She says she’s, “making attempts to get back with George” but he’s blanking her.

Traci is crying alone in the sauna.

Maggot goes to the Diary Room. He tells Big Brother, “I have a heavy hungover feeling. People aren’t really sure what to do, what to say. I’m still a bit perplexed as to the reasons why I was nominated me…I was apparently poking fun at Chantelle…I didn’t realise Preston was so into Chantelle.

“George is feeling upset but if you’re an elected Member of Parliament voted to do a job for a large number of people, so he should be doing that job, not a reality TV programme…I’ve not got thousands of people’s interest, he does.” He then adds, “I can’t get eye contact with Preston.”

12.32pm
Traci is running on the treadmill. Pete and Chantelle are talking about Traci. Pete says, “she’s getting on my f*ckin nerves…she was confident she wouldn’t get nominated.” He then tells Chantelle, “I’ve got massive respect for you over the past few days. You’re the one who least freaked out.”

1.23pm
Rula is talking about George and her nominations, “as far as I’m concerned, I really tried to play it like nothing’s happened…I didn’t think I did anything wrong but I can’t be responsible for somebody else’s actions.”

Pete and George are talking about Rula. George says, “I liked her at first but soon I went off her. She has the same kind of thespian insincerity than LA insincerity.” Pete adds, “that’s why since 1983 I haven’t wanted to socialise with celebrities.” On the subject of Traci, Pete adds, “Traci obviously thought ‘I’m going to be in for the run.’” He mimicks her saying, “I got nominated” in an American accent and then adds, “f*ck off bitch, I got nominated twice…she’s scratching the surface…she came in as an actress and can’t keep up the act for 3 weeks.”

5.06pm
Rula and Traci are talking about who they will stay in touch with out the house. They agree that Preston and Chantelle will see each other again but no-one else will. Rula says, “I’m very much older than anyone here.”

The housemates are dishing up dinner – they all eat in silence. Dennis is in the kitchen alone.

6.47pm
Pete, Chantelle and Traci are in the bedroom. Pete is sleeping. Maggot and Michael are in the kitchen.

Rula and Dennis are in the spa talking about George.

Rula tells Dennis that she doesn’t understand George, and says she would feel better if he would talk to her. She wants to confront him, “if you want to mend a wrong, 2 people have to make an effort. 1 person making an effort is not enough,” she says.” Dennis gives Rula advice. He says she should ask him what the problem is, adding, “you have to be humble.” She adds, “I‘d like to know why some things were said.” Dennis tells her, “if somet hings need to be addressed then say it.” Rula responds, “sometimes it’s not worth it…everybody’s fragile, eveybody’s still shocked.” He says everyone is playing the waiting game. Rula concludes, “whoever I might have had to nominate I feel I would have tried to explain the situation immediately…I thought George would say ‘this is the reason.’” Meanwhile, George paces round the garden.

7.51pm
Preston, Pete, Michael and Maggot are at the seating area.

Dennis and Traci are in the spa. Dennis tells Traci he “doesn’t give a rats ass” about the other people in the house.

George and Rula are in the living room. Rula has confronted George about his moodiness, “I hate moods. I know what you had to go through was horrid.” She says she is curious of why he thinks she is out to win, she tells him she never said that. George says, “someone has misrepresented you.” He tells her if Preston hadn’t have been in the Diary Room with him, he might have nominated him or Chantelle. He adds, “you say the choice was obvious. It wasn’t It was a joint decision. If I had been with someone else they wouldn’t have been my choices.”
-------------------------------------

Okay:

Point 1) Not great for Tracy but could have been a lot worse. Pete's constant sniping can only help her. I think she'll make it, but it could still be close: hope everyone has a saver on Tracy, she's still at 3.15.

Point 2) "First housemate to be evicted????" Er. Poor wording or hint? I can't see them kicking out the second place candidate tonight too, there'd only be one female left in the house. Time, as they say, will tell. :)

Ooof! That was heavier on our Trace than expected. Betfair suspended betting just before 9 too (it's back now, odds still steady), thought a sting was going down.
That's the worst of it over now, hopefully they were just trying to even things up a bit. Still glad I've got money on Traci too tho.

*crosses fingers* :)

Is it only me who keeps noticing the names of random East Anglian radio stations in the crowd? Last week it was "We Love Hereward FM", this week "Big Hello To KL.FM"! Someone's having a laugh.
