cats got a swollen head

cheers folks, he seems to be back to his usual grumpy self this morning, hooray!!!! :)

here's a pic of him in better times Scaredy - if you really want, i'll try and get a pic of his scarred head later, it's a bit of a mess still but (touch wood) the swelling appears to have ceased for now. he ate some more this morning, not a great deal, but we're hoping enough to satisfy the vet.

Yay :) This is all very good news. Here's hoping he continues to eat and put back on some of that weight.

Perhaps icky kitteh head shots in spoiler tags for the weak of stomach??

He's lovely, great news.

Ooooh poor puss.

Just read this , looks like its healing well though. Nice and clean.

:)

Sending healing vibes puss cats way.

Aww poor kit! So glad to hear that he's feeling better!:D

My mog is in the bad books. He was supervising my nightly bath and got overexcited at all the bubbles. Silly thing half fell in, then in the panic to scrabble out clattered my glass of wine all over the floor! He's now licking himself clean in the airing cupboard.:D

What would we do without them?:D

My cat bailey fell in the loo when he was about 11 weeks old. Trouble was tOka hadnt flushed it

Vet asked if there was any chemicals in the loo and I said only man made ones :D

He was fine.

mine went in the loo once, which i hope was clean as i woke up with her sitting on my cleaning herself.

Our Cedric had one of those abcesses once, but when I went to grab him to take him to the vets, it burst, and the shock sent him hurtling round the room like it was a wall of death, spraying blood and pus and piss everywhere as he went
Glad Scaredy's on the mend. :)

Great how quickly they shake it off... :D

Chances are that it will fill up with pus again, keep an eye, bathe with cotton wool @ warm water/tcp, gentle pressure to clear out....

.... good luck...

he's strolling around all proud at being looked at on tinternet now :D

keeping it bathed as you say and hoping he's on the road to recovery, spent most of the day sleeping outside on his nest which is a good sign and munched on some more chicken.

thanks for all the get-well/got-well posts people, much appreciated :)

Remember there's a pattern to all this...

... cat has fight..

..... cat gets abcess & gets under the weather...

.... abcess gets sorted out, cat gets better....

... cat goes out on the razz again...

..... cat has fight..

& on we go......

yes it is, and pleasantly annoying as i try to type this as he sits on me lap, rubbing his boney head abbbbbbbbbbbgvvvvvvvvvvv (thanx Scaredy for that) against my hand and purring lots.

ray!!!! :) night people.

Excellent - Thad abcess looks well cleaned-out & rid of infection. Should heal fine. It was indeed big - no wonder he was suffering!

In an older cat, the fur may regrow partially white over a wound but don't worry about that.

Very glad he is on the mend. :)
