Cats and stuff

My last two cats didn't seem to have any interest in going round the front here, partly, I think, because the back alleyway smells so strongly of foxes? Or possibly just because they were elderly, and used to the quieter life of Cambridge. I do wonder what will happen when these three are allowed out. I don't know how well I would cope with losing one!

Meanwhile, I am constantly astonished at how friendly they are - the one who is called Jill (but who I keep calling Jane, for some reason - really am struggling with the names of these two poor kittens), was crawling all over my neck and shoulders, and headbutting my face, a few minutes ago. When I put her on the floor so I could get on with things (I am supposed to be working from home), she jumped back up again, but missed slightly, because I am wearing a long skirt, and ended up drawing blood on my knee trying to stop herself from falling. Ow!

Oh dear - I have just discovered that those jelly (see? That was the name given to the kitten who did this!) filled wrist rests you get for using with keyboards are not kitten proof. It's now all leaking and sticky!

Until 4 weeks ago I'd only ever lost one, and she was 17  but then one of my kittens died...right out of the blue. She had a virus and was too small to even be able to fight it. That's taught me a lesson tbh. I hate it when I find my cats wandering out the front even though my road is a dead end road. I live in fear of foxes grabbing them as well. But, I reckon you can only do so much to protect them. Just enjoy their company and give them the best home you can and as much love as possible.

Sorry, I'm pissing a bit on your happy thread ain't I?

To move on, Jenny/Jelly

Jill/Jane

Give them names you identify with...mine always react to "you little shit"!!! when they've done something particuarly naughty...maybe that's just my screech of dismay?:D

Plus more piccys please!

Oh, okay, then! :D

Here they are - as taken a few minutes ago!

And this was Jelly/Jenny/Jilly (haven't quite finalised the name yet) checking the grouting in my bathroom this morning.

And this is the other one (Jill or Jane - still to be finalised, too!) in the process of destroying a few ornaments in my daughter's old room yesterday.

Oh Guin they're lovely, well done for taking them on. :)

I love black cats, they're my favourite, what's wrong with people?:D

but I'm allergic :(

When I got up this morning the mother, Jessica, was a bit agitated, and followed me into the loo, and was generally hassling me to come downstairs. I just thought she was being greedy, and didn't pay a lot of attention, since I had ensured they had biscuits and water before I went to bed last night.

Anyway, when I came downstairs, I discovered that the kittens had somehow managed to close the sitting room door (where the food, water and litter trays are), with themselves on one side of it, and the mother on the other side! The kittens had dug up the carpet on the inside, trying to get out, and I had to force the door open. The mother had dug up the carpet in the hallway, trying to get in!

They really are destroying my house!

aw bless. you'll have to remove all doors form their hinges immediately ;)

Good thinking, although I would have to keep my bedroom door - it's the only time I can get any respite from them except when I am at work. Currently, the two kittens are playfighting on the dining table!

Twice a day, I get peace and quiet briefly:

Wow! Is that the mum on the right? She's really fluffy compared to the other two!
