Cat tantrums

Yeah, it's pretty common... our kitten is doing it as I type! Scrambling up the back of my chair, tugging my dreads, leaping to the floor and legging it into the other room, knocking ash trays over, and legging it back in here to attack the chair again :)

Does anyone else's cat wake them up by headbutting them? Ours has just started doing this. Got woke up this morning being properly nutted, gentle padding on my cheek, licking my face and clawing at the duvet... she stopped when I looked at her, but as soon as I closed my eyes she was off again!
It was quite cute... but I could've done with a bit more sleep :)
One of ours does that. Not headbutting though. Every morning at around 6am she punches (yes PUNCHES) me in the face and will continue to do so until I open my eyes. Then if I dare to close them again she bites my nose. Its quite sweet....but also very irritating since she's started doing this around 4am.
For some reason she never does this to my boyfriend even though he feeds the cats just as much as I do.

My gf's cats like to do this, I'll be quite happily slumbering away, and the next thing I know, one of the little blighters is on top of me hitting me in the face. WHY? They won't go near me when I'm awake, yet they seem to take pleasure in torturing me every time I try to get some kip

Our cats have a mental period in the morning and then again in the evening.
The kitten chases one of the older boys around and the other one just scowls at them for being so immature. They chase each other round the furniture and I have got broken bowls and glasses as a result.

Delilah has destroyed my bedroom curtains, my flower curtain covering our cupboard and my wedding dress bag during her mad spells.

They also climb all over nathansears when they want to be fed. I realised this early on so rarely feed them as I know they will then start harrassing me at 5.30am. ;) Delilah head butts him, licks his face and if he still ignores her she bites his nose.

I love cats. :D

We have a hole in the carpet on the bottom step because of the crazy mad flids our 2 have.
They go mental every day and its totally hilarious watching them. Although when you become part of their imaginary assault course it can get a bit scary!!!

My kitten races around like a maniac whenever he's awake! i keep the ashtray outta the way now since he knocked it all over himself the other day

My older cat used to have a unique way of waking me up...if i was lying on my back she'd get on my middle and stick her arse right in front of my face... not good :( thank fuck she doesn't do that any more!

Cats - SORTED for fleas and whizz.

I'm familiar with a cats 'mad half hour'. Can be very entertaining !

I remember reading an article in Bizarre magazine about this. Cats, apparently, produce a sort of 'pleasure hormone' (akin to anphetamine!) that builds/wells up and, every now and again, is 'released' into the cats system with spectacular results !

One of my cats (the one that doesn't do the crazy thing) wakes me up at random moments by sitting on my chest purring, poking her nose in my eye and if that doesn't work, pawing my face. She does this at any time of night if I leave the bedroom door open. If I (heaven forfend) shut it, they both spend the whole night jumping at the door handle and mewing pitifully outside.

Sometimes I wake them up when they're sleeping, just to try and show them what it's like. Doesn't seem to work though - they are deeply inconsiderate of them amount of time I spend sleeping in comparison to their 20 hours a day :(

Roger our she-cat does the headbutting thing, I'm not sure why or where I read it but I always thought it was a sign of affection from a cat (maybe just trying to fool myself into thinking she likes me), she also tries hard to dig up the floor or the worktop of whatever you put her food on . I'd love to know why. Kenco one of the other cats has a different take on waking the humans up, he lies on your head and dribbles all over you!

That's a real "Are you me?" post!!!

After depriving me of sleep from the small hours onwards, mine will sometimes curl up & sleep on my bed before I go to work. They have the cheek to cringe & shade their eyes with their paws in horror as I open the curtains!

Molly has a mad half hour in daytime, but you hardly see her,,,, just hear the quiet rapid fourpaw sprinting...

Murphy can't be arsed running, so he just waits til about 1am and proceeds to attack the stairs like there's food under them steps.
