Cat shit :(

My garden is a very small concrete square, and next door have 3 cats. I have just gone outside and all over my garden is their shit and it fuckin' stinks. Does anyone know how to get next doors cats to stop doin gthis as I can't go out there cause it just makes you want to puke. My gut feeling is toshovel it up and throw it back over their fence but that feels really cheeky. Is there anything i can buy to stop them doing this? Yuk - bugger it, i am going to throw it back over cause i can smell it from here - grr!

Hi Mozzy :)

I put a thread up about this too a few months back, but I can't find it. The words 'cat' and 'shit' are too short for the search engine.

Anyway! I bought this thing - it was £46:

http://www.deteracat.co.uk/catwatch.htm .

The reason why I bought it was cos our garden was being used as the local loo by lots of cats - about 5 shits a WEEK on the lawn!

Anyway! This thing - It's used by the RSPB in their bird sanctuaries, to keep cats away. It is sensitive to movement and emits a high-pitched squeak when cats enter the garden (humans can't hear it - unless they really concentrate). It totally works - we have ZERO SHIT in our garden, except the very occasional bit done by an old cat that we really like who is deaf :D and blind in one eye. She tends to puke up at the end of the garden occasionally as well.:eek: But we love her so it's ok.

But all the other shit has completely gone! I am so happy. It's expensive - £46 quid - but worth every penny (I was clearing shit up every single week, I swear!).

Good luck!

Hey, cheers for this - I will look into this - it sounds a clever device which doesn't harm the cats, but just keeps them from using the yard as a loo!

It wouldn''t be so bad if it was just one cat, every now and then, but there are 3 and the whole back yard is covered with the stuff and it is stinking my kitchen out!

It really works. It has changed my life! *sobs* :D

There are cheaper ones out there, that work in a different way. But I did loads of research on the interweb and discovered that this is the one that most people says is absolutely brilliant.

It's horrific isn't it. I feel for you. The mixture of WHISKAS and SHIT which is what catshit actually smells like, just turns my stomach.

What is it about city cats? Where I grew up, in the country, they buried their shit.

Well, if you've got paving slabs, I guess that makes it a bit difficult....:D

Scuse my ignorance, but what is a super soaker!!?

They can also be easily modified to use petrol!

:D

^^^^ In my ignorance, I thought squirting the cats (with anything - let alone one of those giants) would have been much crueler than sprinkling chilli power!

I guess you learn something new every day!

Nah, IME a squirt of something not too noxious will not do them much harm.

Neither will the odd "flying lesson" if you can get your hands on them!
