Cat ham! With gratuitous *borrowed* cat pics!!!

Hahaha! TY SBL ;)

I've also looked online just now; they sell catnip SPRAY - 'brings out the sociable nature of cats' - and I reckon I might get some leaves tomorrow :D

Other people's cats are FUN :)

I are also owned rats onceuponatime.

They are an outstanding choice, ms strumps!

I live opposite a ferret breeder, incidentamally :)

Might pick your brains (when the time comes) for some info. on keeping them then Qpants! :)
Get some info on buying them first!

What breed do you want? Do you know rat breeders in your area?

There's a whole series of rat-based UK websites, and tbh I'd ALWAYS recommend getting breeder instead of pet-shop rats :)

Mine were pet-shop and lovely; but when I *ahem* buy my future rats, they're going to be breeder dumbos every time :D

Omg....that is TEH cuteness *melts*

Ty for the links! Was going to get them from ...... pet store :o
Will look for breeders then!

Dumbos? *goes to read up on them*

Eta - *falls in love with dumbos*

Have you not tried the tuna yet quoady?

srsly, cat's go mad for it. There's something in tuna oil that is actually addictive, so it's more like kitty crack than catnip (an aside, I can't find anywhere around here that stocks those catnip drops that come in a red tube anymore :( ).

Tuna in brine though - none of this in sunflower oil crap.

Trust me :)

I must add, tuna should only be used as a treat, as it does not contain taurine, an essential part of a cat's diet. If they don't have taurine they die.

Oooooooooooo.

Haven't bought in tuna yet. Will look for it!!! And only in moderation - I aren't going to obesify next door's cats :D

TY, VP!!!

And strumps - google for rat breeders near you :) There're plenty :)

Oh! Or post a thread! Bound to be some people around! There's also harbingerofdoom on 4clubbers.net who - I think - knows a lot about rats :) Rat fanciers are out there by the dozen!!! :)

Ta hun! :D
Won't be for a few weeks yet so I can read up on them now and when we are ready to actually go buy I will pick people's brains. Had some good advice before from a rat thread on here :)

Let us know how it goes with the tuna!1

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

And bear in mind that it's when THEY'RE ready, YOU buy ;)

Proper rats aren't just on tap! They're produced in litters :) That's one of the reasons they're liable to be happier, better-balanced rats. They're not forced / on tap / sitting in cages in a pet shop for weeks :) They're from their mum, to their new owners, socialised and ready to be lots more socialised :) No pet shop waiting time!

The kittens are - so far - responding positively, intriguedly, and confusedly to the three new catnip bushes in t'garden :D

Well.

I had to drive from Surrey to Yorkshire. my route goes RIGHT by Wisley RHS gardens. It would be criminal not to've replaced those mangey foxgloves :o

It turns out there are TWO IDENTICAL ginger cats! Good god, I never knew that!

RIGHT! I'm off to spy from my upstairs window :D

They're really lively around this time - and at by far their most friendly. Unobtrusive cat watching = the closest mrs quoad is getting to pussy tonight :)
