SO it seems so far she has a high testosterone level, hardly surprising, she does look very masculine and even has facial hair (and a deep voice although Ive not heard it)

so what'll happen if as I suspect the test come back sying she is a woman, although a 'freak of nature' IYSWIM, a woman with male characteristics that give her an edge running 800m, I mean she's 18 and still has a few years of improvement.

What if she starts running 1:45 or below.

Will the IAAF (or whatever athletics federation it is) say she can't run???

Now we've got the results it does seem to cast the "she's been treated badly" argument into the shade a bit.

I mean, this was going to come out anyway. I can see it as being detrimental to the build up to her race in terms of undermining her race preparations and not allowing her to have a fair crack at the press afterwards but the bottom line is that this stuff was going to come out eventually.

But I don't know whether there's actually been any great error on anyone's part.

This is the result of a chance chromosomal mutation leading to an unusual athletic ability which raises questions over the rules of the sport.

It's certainly tough for her and really unfortunate but the whole thing is a natural collision of pre-determined stuff.

Yeah, it's tough. More than that really, it's the kind of thing you'd expect to precipitate a major identity crisis/breakdown in a sensitive person but it's not anyone's fault in particular.
