Johno in discussion with Francie

He can't stand her positiveness and trys anyway he can to make her as negative as himself. No luck yet, she's older and wiser.
The girls on the other side of the hut wall eavesdropping their conversation with a running commentary, priceless. Johno has the same attitude as some of the anachistic members of urban. Good is bad and bad is heavenly.

They don't like John. He's been cast out!

He is amazed that they all believe Hassan without even hearing his side of the story.

He hasn't stopped to wonder why they are so easily prepared to believe the story they've been told.

I hated this originally, but if you can avoid the bits with that Wallace fella, and just ignore the fact that some people disappear (are chucked off) from the island, it's quite watchable.

ie. take away anything Big Brother/Celebrity Jungle related and it's not too bad.

Highlights for me include the "anarchist" bloke moving into to the chicken-shed thing and the other guy moving into the look-out -- with the rest of them squabbling over a single hut. Was quite funny when the army bloke built his new place under the hut they destroyed, where they emptied their piss :D

It's also amazing how much weight all of them have lost -- especially the kid from Leeds. In fact his whole attitude has turned extremely positive from a self-confessed SF-kid who had not many friends outside his bedroom/computer. Goes to show that with a lack of food and a healthy, active lifestyle even people who are very obese lose a lot of weight -- in the UK I think they'd have given up on him as his weight being "genetic" or the like.

It's not bad stuff now :)

It’s a poor state of affairs when the only thing of interest to me is the weight big Al has lost.

The series has suffered from being shunted round the schedules, I never know when it’s on.

I am addicted to these survival shows. Just to see how they put up with eating snails on porridge..:) Jonathan has a self destruct button, he does not want to be liked because it goes against his lonely and cynical life-style.
He is very asute though at reading other people. The oldies group together and moan about the lazy younger members....Chilling = bone idleness
The oldies were talking about taking a holiday = strike to wake the young ones up....cannot wait for that....
When you are 34 and a 20 year old girl picks you for an adventure this must give rise to many an eroctic thought....He say he will be a gentleman but gives her plenty of whisky before bedding down.....not much changes through the ages does it?

Yes indeed. Does Catrin know what she is letting herself in for by choosing a bloke who fancies her and hasn't had any for months?

Does she know he fancies her or is she in for a shock?

I believe she didn't pick Hassan or little Al fears that they might want to get jiggy with her.

She mentioned a concern that Al was of a similar age to her. For what reason could this be a concern other than a sexual concern?

Is "big" Al not gay?

I remember an earlier episode when him and the posh one (also called Al?) were in in the sea -- and the posh one said to "big" Al something along the lines of, "The big gay and the posh gay caught a fish". Unless he was just being jokey.

I can't really recall any other instance of sexuality talk -- which is very rare for a reality show :D In fact, even rarer that there aren't any overly camp "contestants"!

South park reference to Big Gay Al the gay aminal shelter owner (animal shelter for gay animals that is).

what a selfish person-Lucinda

Lucinda kicked off for stealing for the 3rd time. It would have brought severe punishment on the whole group so they voted 8-4 she must go.
Her excuses were so pathectic, I was hungry so I had to steal.
She seem to be without any morals and justifys her actions because it revolved around her. What a horrible person. So selfish she can't even see it when others explain it to her. Good riddance.

another one bites the dust

Tonights show loses Gemma. She was voted off as having the least Castaway experience. Personally I feel she did pick a lot up by being a Castaway.
Not being the sharpest tool in the box, she did howerver progress out of her little world. Also a romance between Johnathan and Cathy. Now that is scary.

Staged by the producers and they played along for something to do and an extra bit of food. I'd bet on it.

Big Al or the notrhern girl will win -- of course, mainly due to the favourable editing and Big Al's "weightloss episode".

I liked Joe.

I looove Alasdair. He's yummy.

But I think curmudgeonly and annoying blokey might win. We love a moody git, as long as we don't have to actually live with them.

Catrin and Big Al gone

Didn't surprise me about Catrin. Not much of a contribution to the show except a pretty face/figure
Big Al's dismissal was a bit premature:confused:

Only 5 left now. Alisdair and Jonathan the last 2 for my money.:)

Jonathan wins castaway

A bit of a anti-climax the final.
Jonathan won but by how much the program ommited to say.
Liked the series anyhow.
Wonder what Jonathan will doing in 3 months.

Half of the candidates were bitterly dissapointed with the outcome of the publics vote for Jonathan.

What does he get for winning?

I got the feeling they cut this whole thing short and/or made some changes because it just wasn't popular. It seemed to go from a more prime slot to a shorter show.
