actually, sorry, i've made a mistake.
the line up is actually

Birdland
Carter USM
Cud
Silverfish

With Snuff and Sink playing at the Canterbury Arms afterwards.

Pop quiz: The singer of which of those bands is now a millionaire (I imagine)?
Bloke from Cud? (Cos he's rich and strange)

i only saw them once :( and to make it worse, sultans of ping were the support but pulled out to do a tv apperance, bastards   and the support was cornershop, they were booed the whole set and they were fucing crap anyway. fuck knows how brim full of asha was a big hit.

"I got ABH for a packet of BnH"

Me and another (occasional) urbanite seranaded a group of old ladies in a Wood Green pub with this a couple of years ago.

Not sure it was quite what they had in mind when they asked us for a song. :D

I've been ABH'd and GBH'd,
For a packet of B&H.
I've been taken,
and driven away.

No. Defo Cud. She was Cud obsessed. Frighteningly so.
that's as maybe, but a hips, tits, lips, power! tee would have been a silverfish one. honest, guv :) unless cud were copying them

Hmm. Maybe I spent too much time paying attention to her small but beautifully formed breasts? I thought the joke/thing was that it was Cud who did that and thereby helped kick-off the Riot Grrl thingy (odd, as Cud were all male?)?? :o

was anyone at this?

Used to love 'em at the time. Went to see them 4 or 5 times. Personally I think they went downhill after the first album.

I like them. Should have been huge. Don't really understand why they weren't.

They were/are a bit hit or, miss, but then so are many successful bands.

I can't really enter into the Brixton 1990s clique discussion here, due to age and geography, but I will say I've loved them for about 10 years. "Straw Donkey; The Singles" was one of the first CDs I ever bought and I still listen to it regularly. "Let's Get Tattoos" is well up there in terms of my favourite songs ever, being one of the few I can put on repeat for ages and not get fed up of.

By the way, I hope this is the classic Carter line up. Just Jim and Les and a drum machine. I have great respect for everyone else that played with them, but if they're going to do a comeback after all this time, then it should be the classic line up. No messing about.

It shall be as you wish it to be :D

*waves magic wand and sprinkles angel dust*

BTW that ticket link says sold out, but it also says that tickets go on sale at 9 AM on Friday 13 April.

The only time I saw carter play live was supporting the senseless things. It was a 'surprise' support thing. (Leatherface played after carter, at first i thought carter were leatherface, until i suddenly thought "Hang on, I thought leatherface were a rough and tumble punk band, not a sort of low-rent pet shop boys", and then noticed all the long-sleeved carter fans who had suddenly materialised.

that still happens. carter share the pwei thing, in that the fans are still bloody loyal and have kept all their shirts, just for times like this :)

It's been confirmed that they will play as the original line-up of two guitars and a drum machine. No extras.

Noooooooo!!

I have planning a trip back to the UK but have been putting it off for the past 2 years.
This may be the kick up the arse I need.

Maybe they'll issue a new special edition shirt? They were always putting out shirts for special occasions weren't they?
