Managed to avoid being completely US-centric despite its US-centric premise, as well as a nicely detailed look at the Depression-era which is relatively poorly represented in 21st century media. Clancy Brown is, quite simply, fantastically charismatic in this. It's just a shame that by the second series he was just made to be flat-out evil (admittedly something he's very good at) rather than the disturbingly conflicted person he was in the first series.
Don't suppose this ever saw a blu-ray release did it?
