Carnivale

Depends how long you mind me having it round mine for!!! I think I had the last DVDs of yours for over a year.

Watched (again) some of the first series over the weekend.
Still think it is excellent, so well produced.

I started last night - for some reason I felt like I ought to record it. Does it get really scary? Like 'wake mr madz up to come to the loo with me in the night' scary?

An under-appreciated curiosity that was well set to become a bit of a masterpiece, even if it was a bit of a Dr. Jazz kitchen sink for all conceivable conspiracies :) Managed to avoid being completely US-centric despite its US-centric premise, as well as a nicely detailed look at the Depression-era which is relatively poorly represented in 21st century media. But I guess it must have cost an absolute fortune to shoot and wasn't easy to just pick up and run with.

Clancy Brown is, quite simply, fantastically charismatic in this. It's just a shame that by the second series he was just made to be flat-out evil (admittedly something he's very good at) rather than the disturbingly conflicted person he was in the first series.

Don't suppose this ever saw a blu-ray release did it?

Dunno
Fantastic show though. I watched it on DVD from the library a few years back. Such a shame it got cancelled
