Given the station is still in use I'm surprised its hasn't been snapped up by some developer to convert into trendy apartments by now.

It needs a ton of work as it's been empty for a long time. It was used as the terminus of a tourist steam line for a while, which seemed like a perfect use. I can't remember why that was disbanded.

Apparently , it may become the home of a museum for the Army Medical Core (relocated from Aldershot) , quite fitting if it happens as it was apparently used as a hospital in WW1 - that would be protect it nicely and be yet another attraction for Cardiff ....

poisondwarf I have a chance...and it is fat.

And those awful flats on the right make it all the worse. Such a shame.

Thought folk might like to see how the renovation is getting on. First 3 of the attached photos were taken at end of Feb 19, the fourth mid-March. As I walk past the building most week days - or will do till end of April - I'll post a couple more photos before the end of next month.

Thanks for the update. It looks like a lot of the character of the building is vanishing but at least it's still there. :(

Hopefully that's just the way it looks whilst it's being worked on. Looking at those pics it almost looks like any of the identikit new-builds down the docks.
