CARDIFF CITY vs Barnsley: FA Cup semi final

Seems City have sussed the ticket allocation better than Barnsley. Ambassadors (ie the ST holders who bought their STs early) get 2 each, then normal ST holders get 1, then club away travel members get 1, etc. Fuck me it is going to be a great day.

I'm supposed to sail to Santander on the Sunday so I hope to Aaron Ramsey that the game is on the Saturday!

See you down there

Perhaps you can offer to redesign their god-awful website in exchange for tickets. On firefox it looks as if a whole load of popups have been glued together.

I apologise if you are already responsible for their website btw.

I was invited up to Cardiff years ago to discuss redesigning their website.

At the time it was beyond awful and I was offering to redesign it for next to nothing, adding e-commerce to help the club raise cash (I'd just designed sites for Capital Radio, TFiFriday, Virgin Radio as well as an award winning big Euro98 football site so I had some idea what I was on about).

Sadly, some uptight polyester suited types took exception to my scruffy appearance and I was asked to leave the (guffaw) "executive suite" and banished to the Player's Bar.

So their website remained shit and loss making for several more years, but at least sartorial standards were maintained behind the scenes.

Hang on, they invited you in to discuss a potentially money-spinning business project and then kicked you out cos of your taste in clothes? Its that sort of incompetence that has kept us out of the top league for 50 years. You should have gone to the Echo with that story.

Try to watch them against Hull and see how it pans out.

Capacity of Ninian park is 22000 so there are less than that for full season ticket holders. I reckon you'd be in with a reasonable shout at a ticket.

You should still go to the Echo with that story, they might give you tickets to buy off your silence.

I apologise if I touched a nerve btw, had no idea that happened.

Especially since the Eggo hates football and obsessively promotes egg-chasing instead. Seriously though, can you imagine: "Ah good morning Herr Cruyff, well we really appreciate your offer to play for us for 10 quid a year but we're afraid you'r a fucking long-haired hippy so bugger off."

Yep. Mind you, this was before Hamman came in and I think he managed to at least drag the club into, oh, the early 1980s at least.

Try to watch them against Hull and see how it pans out.
Not possible because of work, I'm afraid.

Buy the ticket online or by phone but don't go to the game? You still have your stub. Bob bank standing is £20. Worth it I reckon. I'm in bloody Italy so can't go.

For those moaning about ambassadors getting preferential treatment well why shouldn't they as thats what was promised to them at the beginning of the season.

Become an ambassador and get priority for such occasions.

I'd rather 9k ambassadors get 2-3 tickets each as those ticket will find their way into the hands of either family (allowing said gentleman to travel to London) or loyal supporters. Season ticket holders know who deserves a ticket and who doesn't. They aren't going to give it to some random johnny come lately who all of a sudden fancies a trip to London when Ninian Park was too far for him.

They are using the semi final as a device to sell more amabasdor tickets and more power to them. We need more loyal supporters as our attendances are a joke. We can't even sell out when were are top of the league.

wouldn't be so sure of that. the system rovers use saw plenty of season ticket holders who are also supporters club members etc etc entitled to multiple tickets. As a result the West Brom game sold out in record time yet loyal supporters who turn up for bog standard league games home and away missed out. I only got a ticket by the skin of me teeth.

CCFC fan based in London.

Have seen City many times when I am in Wales. Just spoke to a friend from Cardiff and he says best bet is to buy ticket for Hull game - u have the stub and should get ticket for semi final.

Have a City shirt with "1927" on it -hope I have to change it to "2008".

I work with an Ambassador who's son is also one - this season and next. So they will be getting six. If he has a spare one come the day I will give you a shout Ed. ;)

Please do. I'm trying all known contacts to get a ticket, so all help would be much appreciated!

 :hmm:  You mean YOU don't qualify in any of these 'real fan' categories ? You're a glory hunting Bloobird !!!! Oh this just gets better ;)
Actually, it means that I live in London and have been working most Saturdays and so haven't been able to get to games this season.

But seeing as I've watched Cardiff for decades and followed them through a greater chunk of their worst ever times, you'd be hard pressed to label me a 'glory hunter' in any shape of form.

Well, unless you''re some kind of clueless shit stirring fuckwit.

And probably a deeply jealous one at that.

:D

Anyone know when the tickets go on general sale? I had a season ticket last season, but haven't bothered much this year. I'm pretty optimistic any who aren't ambassadors etc will manage to get a ticket, just have to be quick about it!

See post#32, all explained.

If ya not at Hull tmrw nite I think you can forget it!

I can't make the game tomorrow but I've bought a ticket for my mate to use. If all goes to plan, I'll have a hallowed stub!

tbh I had to forego my season ticket when my nippers came along so I have just been a 20-quid a season member since then and that is my way in to Wembley. Job's a good 'un. Agree with Marius though

Also heard that the end of season Club Shop sale has been "suspended" - class!

Trying friends etc to get the gold dust ticket.

"Tickets will be made available on the following dates:

23/3 Ambassadors/Season Tickets Holders (STH) only
24/3 ditto
25/3 ditto
26/3 ditto
27/3 ditto
28/3 ditto plus Away travel members
29/3 as above
30/3 as above plus holders of Hull Ticket stubs (subject to availability)

Not jealous at all 'Dear Editor' as proofed by my post in the regular Cardiff thread [see below] to which no one responded!! Best of luck you'll need it against Portsmouth in the final !

They have a good chance of making it to wembley pity it wasn,t at the milenium stadium that would have set cardiff on fire .and don't forget they are the only non english team to win the fa cup;)

I am so so so so so so so so so so so excited!!!

Getting my tickets on the 27th (nice), I will get so pissed that night I will no doubt lose them on the way home

This has been one of the most surreal weeks ever. Platini saying UEFA would over rule the FA, the Guardian running a poll asking whether we should be allowed in the UEFA Cup. The court case.

Just an average quiet season, eh, boys

God bless the accident of geography makes me Cardiff, and the application of extreme class, sophistication, intelligence and sexiness that makes me Cardiff City ;)
