Cardiff City FC 2007-2008

As promised, I'm slowly getting around to redesigning the Cardiff City section, and things are starting to look a lot better. I've redesigned the home and reports homepages and started to use a new template for match reports.

One thing. When the chuffing 'eck did we lose to Rochdale 1-0 away? I thought it was in 1994, but I'm, buggered if I can find the date (or any web resource going that far back). Any ideas?

We lost 1-0 to Rochdale at Spotland on 18th Jan '97, Mark Leonard scored the only goal. Was that it?

City section looking good. I may be able to provide pics of the games...just got a new camera with 12x zoom.

What are the rules on fans taking photos of the action? Am I likely to have it confiscated by a jobsworth steward.

I'm pretty sure it's from quite a few years before that, but I could be wrong.

If you've got a 'pro' looking camera you'll get grief no matter what, but you're usually OK with a compact camera (except at QPR where some dickhead steward stopped me taking pictures on a small camera).

It's usually best to always hide the camera when you go in.

Be great if you could take some snaps for urban!

Frustrating, as I probably won't be able to hide my big camera, i guess they search your bags on entry for WMD's & bottles with lids.

I'll try the compact on saturday then break out the bigger one at a later date.

Oh no!! Its happened again .......

despite the refs best efforts !! ;)

Cheers boyo's !!! :D

What a shite, shite game. Meaningless drivel. Stoke were awful but very physical. We were not helped by the ref (a good couple of penalty shouts turned down which, from my angle, looked nailed on, and the fact that the corner they scored from should have been a goal kick), and McClean managed to fluff a penalty and a rebound that would have given us parity.

We are absolutely powderpuff up front, and without a decent target man will struggle to get goals this season, Robbie Fowler or no Robbie Fowler.

Worrying thing is, the way the played was entirely reminiscent of the clueless, spineless, capitulating side that finished last season. I fear it may well be a long, hard season :(

 & so it all starts over !!! Hi Bendy, thanks for the first deposit we look forward to the other three points from you later ! Now when do we play The Baggies ?

I'm too drunk and tired to talk about it tonight. Which just about says it all really. That I really just don't want to talk about it.

Soccerbase list these league games, which appears to be all the times that you have been in the same division as them.

http://www.soccerbase.com/head2.sd?team2id=2175&team1id=485

This website seems to list all the cup games Cardiff have played and Rochdale don't appear on there, so unless it was in another competition or a friendly, it looks like 1997 is right.

Cardiff City's main financial backers have initiated legal proceedings against the club over claims they have not repaid more than £30m in debts.
So we're back to the 'are we going bust?' days again.

:( :( :(

Who'd have thought it with such a safe pair of hands as Ridsdale in charge?

Well thats taken the shine off tonight's result. Which I glad we eventually got. I was scared I was going to be sat there until tomorrow.

That's a brilliant report. I hope the author will give us more.
He wrote some ace reports last year, and now that he's got his own log in, we should hopefully get some more reports this season.

I enjoyed his reports last year too. Glad he is doing more. I like doing the odd report but my memory for key events isn't as good (I'll only ever remember the few resulting in goals or those that got me really angry) and i don't want to have to take notes during a game.

BTW there were 3712 there tonight. A bit of a come down from the nearly 19k who turned up to see an absent Robbie.

That was an almighty report...i should have gone to bed 20 mins ago.

Can't believe he wasn't actually at the match. Great work, really enjoyed his reports last season. I wanted to write more for the ccfc section, but his were too good to compete against. :o

From the bbc - Cardiff are also accused of misleading the public about the health of their accounts for the year ending May 2006.

"Any allegations are refuted," said Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale.

oh dear. :(

This £30m stuff sounds very, very serious indeed. This thread on the ICWales forum seems to suggest that the sudden move by Langston's legal team to take CCFC to court could herald an aggressive attempt to sack the current board and take the club over, installing this twunt at the helm once again:mad:

I despair, I really, really do...........:(
