Cardiff City FC 06/07

We have been lucky in that respect but then us having to have a lower capacity costs both the league and us money in missed revenues.

So I can see why they'd make the exception when there is a perfectly good reason for them to do so.

I am officially a Bob Bank terrace season ticket holder for the first time in my life. :)

Unfortunately it's tinged with sadness, I'm flying the flag for my old man, a lifelong city fan who passed away 6 weeks ago. :( He already bought his 07/08 Grandstand season ticket and the lovely people at the ticket office let me swop it for 2 season tickets on the terrace.

My mission for next season is to take as many people as possible with my spare ticket, and give them a taste of the terraces before we sadly give way to an all $eater future. :(

Good on you mate. Sorry to hear of your loss but I like your style in trying to create a leagacy from your old man's ticket. Good luck in getting in as many as possible.

Kudos to the club for letting you swap. Nothing sadder than an empty season ticket seat. I pray to god that when i die, I die out of season, as I don't think they have teletext where I'm going and I'd hate not to find out how a season ends. Is that wrong of me?

I don't think there is anything to stop you from taking kids in on an adult ticket in case you run out of adults to take.

Poor old Rhys Weston

This link from the Indy by yur
brings us up to speed with the ever downward decline of our erstwhile right back. Released by Viking Stavanger and, latterly, Port Vale, poor Rhys' situation is so dire that he's reduced to pimping around the contact number of his agents in a national paper.

Whatever his faults, I always felt that Weston was a loyal servant to the club and tried his (very limited) best when on the pitch. He also comes across as a thoroughly decent bloke.

I'm surprised that a player of his standard can't get a place in a Div 1 or 2 side, TBH, and hope to hell that he does get another contract somewhere.

((Rhys))

:(

I could never understand it.
Rhys Rhys Rhys Weston used to work incredibly hard. He used to do his job and the wingers because our wingers were never where they were supposed to be. Despite having to do the work of two without respite the crowds use to get on his back, never cut him a break.

He wasn't prem standard but definately a good Championship player. 26 and playing for Port Vale just seems so wrong.

That's an interesting article - and I found this fact surprising: 85 per cent of 16-year-olds taken on by football clubs are out of the game at 21.

Couldn't cross or pass the ball though, poor boy. I'm not sure if he was up to Champ standard TBH, but was fine in the lower divisions.

Certainly didn't deserve the stick he used to get though. Barrack a player if he doesn't try or doesn't care, fine. Barrack a player who has limited ability but gives his all, for shame!

Better that they're out of it early mind - still have time to build a career from scratch at the age of 20 or 21.

At 27, and having relied on football as his sole source of income all his working life, poor Rhys is in a bit more of a pickle, unfortunately.

Don’t we have wingers for that?

I wouldn’t want to be a back for Cardiff. Expected to do more work and be more versitile than other players but for less pay. Then critisied when the quality drops because you’re worn out and they haven’t got anyone to cover whilst you rest.

I emailed that link to my mate who did some work for RW at his house and never got paid. His reply was:

"Thats his Karma.........on the scrap heap at 26".

Aye! Fuck 'im then. Seems that by championship averages he was earning £195,000 pa. Sure he's stashed a bit of that away for a rainy day, and making savings off your mate is just another way of insuring the future for his family. :)
