Cardiff City 2005-6 thread

Ali, the p.a. at his best tonight with his 'jail' selection for the Leeds fan at half time including the Clashes version of 'I fought the Law'.

And just for the Editor on the way out he played 'Tiptoe thro the tulips', and yes people were singing that version :)

On th epitch, it's business as usual when it comes to Leeds, four sides of the ground singing and Leeds buckling under.

I'll never tire of beating them ;)

Very average first half from City but terrific second half. Brilliant atmosphere from the 15,000. Superb strike from Koumas - but MOTM for 30 mins?! Cooper was poor and Cox not so hot but everyone else had good games. Need another striker though to go with Jerome.

At half time I would have taken a draw but Jones must have delivered a fine half time team talk because City were a different side second half. Top night.
Bring on Watford on Friday - although I will have to watch it in a pub in Newcastle.

Watch the Bluebirds fly......!

..................... Waits patiently for the Blue Bubble to pop !!! :p

Up the mighty multicultural Potters !!

You're taking Svetoslav Todorov on loan from Portsmouth, he's had 2 years out for cruciate problems but has completed pre-season for us. Natural finisher, last time out in the division he was the 27 goal hero of our promotion season.

The bad news is you've got him until Christmas.

"oh toddy, toddy!"

:)

Ten yellow cards today in City v. Derby, was the Ref a nutter or what? I think Refs for City games should come from a neutral country, seriously.

I was there and yes, he was a card happy cunt. Very surprised no reds were shown, any decent hard tackle was booked whether they got the ball or no.

As for the match, City started brightly but soon faded as the Rams took control, really Derby were far too good for Cardiff and could've scored 6; 2-1 didn't reflect the game whatsoever. I fear for Cardiff this season on that showing tbh, though they have time to sort it being this early of course.

Not bad Bomby, not bad. Wondered how long it would be till you started lurking on threads pertaining to your second favourite championship footballing force. You do love us, don't you?

Could somebody explain to me how a cash strapped club like Cardiff, who supposedly have to sell all their best players to make ends meet, can pull £1 million out of their arse to bid on Derek Riorden?!

Same question to any Leeds fans (and even W*dnesday are buying players!!)

Is this gonna be Leicester all over again!?!

Riordan won't be coming to City.

I've been wondering the exact same thing, though. We did manage to raise some money by selling all of our best players, and to significantly slash our wage bill by selling said players, and browbeating other high-earners into taking wage cuts, but when you're £30m in debt it should be fairly difficult to magic up half mill sums for the likes of Purse and Kilmarnock striker Boyd (who apparently agreed terms with us tonight). Dunno.

...... Er , How can I put this Bendy ............?

No ! :p But the banter is much better with you lot than our so called local rivals, Port Fail & Crwho !! Anyway feeling a bit peed off at the moment after we made our customary exit from round 1 of the Carling cup on penalties to the mighty, champions league bound Mansfield Town last night :( Always nice to get that one out of the way. We will really be able to concentrate on the league once we go out to Telford in the FA Cup 3rd round !!

Sam's finances have always worked in extremely mysterious ways.

£17 Bob Bank Terrace on the day Ed *gulp*

It's looking good for Riordan and Boyd at the moment! Thing with our £30 mil debt is that it's all long term, like a mortgage, it was the day to day finances that were the problem. We're pretty much reinvesting all the money we've made from selling into players that are accepting lower wages. It does make alot of sense.

Looks like Riordan WILL be coming to City.

Hmmm. The messageboards (for what they're worth) are now saying that his agent has stated that he doesn't want to come to Wales.

I likes that Carl Dale

Rummaging in a box of tapes in the attic last night I came across this gem.
I can't remember when it was from, and it's not as bad as I remember.
Remake anyone?

The Boyd/riordan move put at 50/50 in the Echo.

It says that Lee was looking good ( about time ), do we need two strikers? They'r hardly cheap and Craig Brown says they're ones for the future and don't expect miracles now!
Well we need goals now, not an investment, pah :(

I'm pissed off with Cardiff.. last season they got the PFA to pay some of their players wages (something Leicester never got, depsite being in administration) yet this season they can afford to buy two players.. hmm, something not quite right. Also claims of fiddled attendances. I'm getting word of a big FA investigation. Hope for the fans this isn't the case.

Bollocks there was nothing out of order with that loan. :D

And we've been fiddling attendences for years :)

We have sold quite a few players, cut the bill ,freeing money up.
So up the mighty foxes  Play up lestor.

That's my DIY artwork! (courtesy of Letraset).

My mate did the music and the girl spoken intro is an ex-girlfriend of mine!

I made a t-shirt of the cover and it went down a treat with the City faithful.

I've still got the shirt but it's looking a little knackered these days (the pic was from our big crowd against Burnley. We lost 2-1 I think, scuppering our promotion hopes).

What year was that?
It seemed a golden year for city DIY,
Remeber 'The Golden Years', with Fred Keenors ears in gold?
The Gazza 'Id' cry too if I were English '
and a long sleeve, that went something like Sex,drugs, bluebirds with little pictures of sex drugs and bluebirds.

p.s. Janine sounds lush. ;)
