Carbon Footprint

My household makes 4tons of CO2, which although less than half the average, still seems an awful lot.
4.3 here (2 people in old tenement building). Would be 1.2 tonnes less if the West Coast main line could get its act together and finish the upgrades in Scotland :mad:

I thought ours would be higher as well.

*digs out gas bill and car mileages and gets calculating*

5 tonnes here...

If I didn't have a car it would be only 3, but there's no way I'm getting rid of my car (I only use at weekends)...

3 tonnes for our family - I was surprised we emit that "little" considering we don't have draft proofing/insulation/double glazing - but I think that we don't have any cars and don't fly anywhere helped ours go so low.

My household's annual carbon foot print is 3 tonnes of CO2.

(According to BP...) the average is 10 tonnes.

Apparently we produce 4 tonnes of CO2, but I reckon the true figure is somewhat higher. For accommodation I had to select small apartment even though it's not exactly small, but neither is it a house or a semi.

8 tonnes for here, but that's for five people with some travelly types in it, so pretty good on the whole...

I got 11 tonnes for our house cos i counted 6 of us, it's all Crispy's fault! And 11-20 short haul flights, mainly Nuts! And 1-5 long haul, mainly Brainaddict! Bastards. ;) Plus house leaks heat and doubt there's any insulation in roof etc. Real CO2 probably around average x :(

3 tons for one person in an old tenement flat. Mostly becuase I have gas heating. No car or flights though.

Nothing about planting trees to offset carbon footprint on the BP website though.

I'm 3 tonnes too, mainly due to no car and cutting back on flight travel in the past couple of years. I think my figures are a bit distorted though because of the drop down options. I'm sure we had a thread like this a little while ago - I scored much higher on that one. Different site (can't remember which) and a lot more specific than this one. BP though.

edit: Just found another site although it's still not the one I was thinking of. Safeclimate calculator This came out at 192 kg per month, so that's 2.3 tonnes per year. You have to actually enter mileage and data from utility bills. What it doesn't do is look at recycling and energy loss.

3 tonnes; but i don't see how double glazing would save power, seeing as i dont have any heating at all at the moment;
