Caprica : 58 years before the fall

i like to go into these things knowning nothing. helps me be more subjective.

so far so good. these BSG peeps really know their production values!! come a long way since season 1 :p

Just seen the pilot for this Battlestar Galactic prequel series ( its out there on torrent / usenet ;) ). The first 1hr 10 mins is a laborious but the last 20 mins or so are really good IMO. Wont say too much until some others have seen it.

The worst thing about it is that we have to wait til next year for the proper series.....

Only just got into BSG and am about halfway through (I have this pigheaded thing about remakes which put me off watching it when it was actually first shown :o ) so I'm quite interested in this.

I've watched the first 10 minutes and it's intolerable. I'll have to really grit my teeth and deal with it if the last 20 minutes makes it worth my while, but it will be an act of faith I reckon.

The teen drama plastic feel of it. One of the things I liked about BSG was the harshness. 10 minutes isn't enough to make a judgement, and I realise that this is a different story so does not need to have the same qualities as BSG, but if I cannot engage with it then I'm not going to enjoy it. I'll give it another go when I'm in the mood.

yeah , it was a real struggle , i was completely meh about it at the beginning but press on it does get better . Saying that I didnt really enjoy the pilot of BSG when iI first saw that but that came good ( well mostly....)

It's ok, very BSG 90210 in places. Good fun seeing the first Cylon, but the science was a bit hokey and it didn't quite 'sit' right in the BSG universe for me somehow.
Early days yet, there's a good idea in there somewhere.

Not bad, not bad at all. Don't know where anyone gets the plastic teen drama stuff from at all. It is a bit soapy at the start, but it doesn't take 1:10 to get going IMVHO...TOP semi-twist at the end too...

they said it would be the first soap drama set in the future, that what it is, think its pretty interesting that the whole chebang was started by grieving fathers and that religion was hardwired into the cylons, i presume the rest of the series will deal more with the ethics of doing it, but its too late now.

I think the plasticky teens in the school uniforms and the cringy Matrix-style club scenes is where I got that impression. I recognise I may have less tolerance for such devices, but there you go... The last half hour leaves me with hope that the series will have some interesting plot developments.

I'm frakking excited and i haven't even seen it yet :D

Just finished BSG the other week and now the Mrs is watching them from the start, so this'll be ace.
