Can you roast corn?

Boiled corn takes less time though. Only around 10 minutes.... depends how impatient you are for your corny-goodness

roast corn is lush too, but you can't beat it bbq'd

mmmmm, ponders leaving the house to get corn instead of pretending to do work...

As much as I like the smoky taste of roast/grilled, I still don't reckon you can beat boiled corn on the cob, especially when the corn is very fresh. Smothered with copious amounts of butter, it's just as succulent and sweet as can be. Bloody chin-dribblingly lovely.

Corn on the cob seems cheap at the mo - 4 cobs for a quid or so.

How was it? Any hints or tips to pass on?
It was lovely, not as good as barbecued, but better than boiled - I peeled the husks down, took out the silky thread things then put the husks back up - whacked it in the oven for 30mins at about 190... might've needed a little longer, but I was really hungry and it was still lovely. (bloddy huge though - having the other half for tea tonight)

Kept it simple and just had butter and salt - might be more adventurous next time :)

You're warming to the ketchup & HP idea, aren't you?

No... they were both on my plate last night, but only my sausages got dipped in them... wasn't even tempted with the corn :p

Thanks crustychick!

Am now enjoying corn smothered with butter and am not tempted by the ketchup idea at all.
