Can you lovely ladies please point me towards some day frocks please?

I love wrap dresses oh yes! also a big fan of belts, they draw the eye to your slimmest area and can hide a multitude of sins.
May be sad but I like what that Tanya bird on Eastenders wears lol. I went out and bought a pencil skirt after seeing hers...I love it! great for curvy ladies.

For a short fat bird with knockers. :hmm:

Mustn't be high necked and, this is the tricky bit - need to be able to fit a size 18/20 on top and 12/14 on the bottom without making me look huge all over which dresses tend to do.

Not posh frocks, we're talking taking the kids to school and going to Sainsburys sort of thing but I'm bored stupid with jeans.

Over to you fashionistas... :)

Me too! I have this problem. Large boobs but narrowish back. I'm still a bit chubby on the waist but don't tend to have probs getting stuff to fit there.

I like longish sleeveless dresses... any recommendations?

Gross!!! Thigh high boots always make me think of this:

moomoo - M&S have some good looking frocks on their site at the moment and they're good prices. I haven't actually tried any but there are some nice shapes - max price is about £45 I think. Pretty much all of them are black though.

:D always go down well in the bedroom though;)

I've just scouted the internets and I think you're right Strumpet, common wisdom seems to be to avoid larger patterns because they "draw attention", although there is a bit of praise for patterns which "camoflage".

Fucking hell though, how depressing - "don't draw attention", "camoflage" - they WILL be recommending Burkhas next.

There we go. I thought I'd read it in magazines n stuff.
I think it's more that big patterns aren't flattering enough for the very curvy figure....that's impression I got when reading about it anyway. :)

i wear most of my dresses over trousers/leggings, or with thick tights. in you keep the same colour/tones it elongates the body. i tend to wear 3/4 length leggings or footless tights to make me look a bit shorter and in proportion

oooh, that black dress is lovely i might have to invest in one soon.
i really liked the purple one which was similar but the sleeves were too short.

you saying I've got a fat tummy?

it'll take more than a flimsy bit of material to hold my belly in :o

and I think it comes about a couple of inches below my knees.

Sorry lovely Tanky, I didn't mean that... :(

And yay to below knees! I can wear my new boots with it! :D

I might just dress purely in black from now on - it really would make life so much easier.

Is this the same wisdom that says bigger women should wear stripes that go DOWN and not ACROSS?

Which was dissed in the last couple of weeks?

(Funny, I've always known ACROSS stripes DID NOT make me look bigger!)

I think it's all shite. If you like BIG prints, wear them. If you like SMALL prints, wear them instead.

I wear both, and I haven't died of shame yet.
