Can you get something which will trasmit whats on your pc monitor to your TV?

S-Video to Scart adaptor and 10 metre Cable Kit £7

You can just buy the adaptor and get your own S-Video cable upto 30 metre long. With a cable like this you can open YouTube videos for example in a new window, drag the window off the side of your monitor and it drags across to your TV, then maximize the video on your telly. Your TV acts as a second monitor and you can drag windows between the two.

That kit also comes with a cable for playing itunes or mp3 player through your hifi.

I've two monitors connected from my computer and I use a video splitter to send a single to my LCD tv. Works fine.

I use TVTool. You still need a GFX card with TV out but the TVTool software makes it easier to tweak. TVTool isn't updated any more, which is a shame, as I like it, but I think you can still download it from the site.

I gave up on the Neuros as networking just didn't work.

Made the mistake of buying a Netgear EVA8000 (I know, I know, Netgear sucks) The simple setup has now entered it's second day, and I'm holding for someone in India to read from a script until I can get it escallated to someone with a brain in California.

My girlfriend is Sooo impressed with my technical know-how. She's happy with the freeview box.

Hmm, I still keep an eye on the Neuros but they seem to be struggling a bit with it. Does the Netgear have an s-video out (or standard scart)?

Looks like I'll just carry on with my pc connected to my TV and think about a HDTV and hacked AppleTV in about six months.

or, but its expensive, buy a projector and plug the svid cable into that and play the audio through pc and project onto a nice big 6ft screen like i do, helps to have surround sound too............

I want to be able to watch downloaded films on my tv rather than having to watch on the computer . Is there anything I can get which will let me watch what is being shown on the PC to be shown on the television ? My TV does have a PC input on it so could I just get a very long cable to run from PC to Computer ( they are in different rooms ) or would I need to buy some wireless thing ?

I've done it with a lead from the composite video out from my PC to my TV. Works a treat.

I ended up keeping the PC, stripped of its keyboard, monitor and mouse - connected to the Mac with VNC (why did I not know about this before?) and to the telly with S-Video. My Mac acts as a remote control and the pc can be hidden away (with access to the DVD drive for playing DVDs). Sorted :) I get my second monitor back and half my desk.
