I was once doing some casual work at Fords in Dagenham - not actually Fords, but a company that was contracted out the work for building seats for some particular model
I was working night shifts and on the shop floor through the speakers they had piped out Capital Radio. I don't know about now, but then at night Capital Radio didn't have any DJ's just a two hourly playlist that was on rotation.
It was around about that time of Mouse T - I'm horny, horny, horny, horny...
But not only was it on the shop floor but it was also played through the speakers in the canteen... and also in the toilets!
We can do what the fuck we like so long as it doesn't disturb others or impede working. I occasionally listen to music through headphones, but it's a bit of a hassle as I get pestered with some query or other practically every 5 minutes, so usually admit defeat and don't bother....
my current temp work doesn't do music in the office so instead I have to listen to tedious conversations about babies "they have teenie weenie hands... " or haircuts " I wanna go blonde not like her hair but you know like .... ".

In theory I can listen to music on my pc at work as I have sound and my earphones but I rarely get the opportunity as it's not very often that I sit at my desk for any length of time at one stretch. A few people listen while working which is acceptable by the managers.
