I can't duplicate any of the files on my desktop (or compress them) .
Have tried looking to see if the permissions are ok and they seem to be.
Tried updating the operating system, turning everything off and on again, left it to rest overnight in case it felt better in the morning and now I'm at the stage where you google 'error code 36' and everyone is trying to sell you some product that will save your mac .
Or they're telling you to open 'terminal' and do incomprehensible stuff in there which I am scared to do.
