Campervans!

My tips for buying a van:

1) Buy in winter - the world and her partner want a campervan at this time of year and the prices reflect this - you will get a much better deal in the cold dark winter when camping is far from peoples minds

2) Check auto-trader - i have only bought one car/van (my VW t25) in my life so i am no authority but this difference in price between autotrader vans and those from a dealer were unreal

3) take your time. I very nearly ended up buying a camper with brass fittings and flock wallpaper... i was so desperate for a van... take as much time as you can, even put it off for a year - you will get one that is perfect for you

errr think thats it... sorry that was a rubbish list of tips, but i have only bought one van.... no, you can't have it.

^^^ v good advice! And do loads of research into different kinds of vans/live in vehicles etc.

Different peeps want different things out of a van - depends on how often you want to use it, what you want to use it for, etc.

You've been getting about a bit. I've not been motivated enough to so far. Although it might be the combination of there being so many on ebay and them all being a little too far away.

I reckon you could get down to less than 8 seconds easily - think of all the room for an engine in the back of a VW camper. Now where was that Merlin engine I saw on ebay? . . .

it had a 2.5 ltr bmw engine in it :D

must have been super or turbo charged as well, or had all kinds of stupidly expensive internal work done, you'd need big power for that time in a van -911 engines tend to be the preffered option due to their inherent similarities

My gran had a Dormobile converted dub van when I was a kid, fantastic kit

My other gran had a toyota camper, not so clever, terrible rust, probably the sensible option these days tho (or the bongo)

Have a prejudice against perfect split screen dub vans due to hideously prissy trustafarian Steiner bint
