Yeah it was the second thing I was talking about - seen a few things like that about recently and they seem more about appealing to people's desire to be into something exclusive than a genuine attempt to deal with the issues they say they want to deal with.The second one is a bit pompous, but the first thing with LCD seems legit to me. I would love it if it was a regular venue/event.
The idea that the DJ as the focus of a club night is a new development is nonsense too. When I started going out raving in 1994 the DJ booth was always surrounded by lads staring at the dj's technique, trying to see what tune they were playing, etc etc, and the clubs were 99% of the time set up with the booth as the focal point.
These things are all rave re-enactment societies trying to recreate something that barely existed except in their rose-tinted MDMA addled brains.
