Calzaghe: No ordinary Joe.... on tonight.

i can't PM tony so i thought i'd put this here

DOCUMENTARY: Forty Minutes on
On: BBC 4 (107)
Date: Thursday 19th October 2006 (starting this evening)
Time: 21:00 to 22:00 (1 hour long)

Bomber and Brendan.
Series which revisits and updates stories from the classic documentary strand. In 1981, 40 Minutes followed Herol 'Bomber' Graham, a young black boxer from Sheffield and one of Britain's brightest hopes. The driving force behind Bomber's success was Brendan Ingle, veteran Irish trainer and manager. But would Bomber make it to the very top?

.....naturally that's why brave Sir Hopkins has cagily, sneakily and difficultly avoided ever having to confront Calzaghe in the ring, and will do again, IMHO

Sure he avoided him but luckily he had some big money fights he could fall back on.

Truth is, Calzaghe wasn't a big enough name until after the Lacy fight.

saw a bit of this. Milesy sent me a text to let me know it was on

Great fighter Bomber Graham

Missed the programme (thanks tho' Chorlton), looks like it was good. I did like the Bomber, and Bomber he was. Shame he never won a world title tho'. :(

I'll never forget his fight against the Body Snatcher Mike McCallum, if it wasn't fore the fact he lost points cos of low blows he may have actually got the decision. McCallum said it was prob' the toughtest fight he ever had.

Then who can forget against Julian Jackson, Bomber was beating him and nearly even stopped him before Jackson knocked him out cold, before he even hit the canvas.

How's it there Relahni.. trust all is good with ya!

peace

Yeah - all those fights were on the programme last night

I'm good mate. Things going well.

The fight tonight - Lenny Dawes - has been pulled....

Roll on Baldomir and Mayweather..

The only comparison between the 2 is Judah and Mayweather done a better job on Judah, but it should be interesting.

I can see Mayweather KOing him in the middle rounds.

yeah, there is pretty much a consensus of the boxing fans I've spoken to about it.

I think it'll be a good fight, with Mayweather just having that bit extra.

Did you see the Moore Macklin fight?

same.

Was toying with the idea of going to E&C tonight - Anthony Small tops the bill, but Angel McKenzie is fighting.

I did a pad/spar session with her for 2 rounds. She is very fast... She said I was fat and touched my belly with her hands.........

She continued, that is why you are out of breath - you are fat....

 ;)
