I now have one day to decide if it should be PC or 360...

I've ironed out any performance issues on the PC. I can live with frame dips to a low of 40 fps and a 1280:1024 res. I doubt the 360 runs at anywhere near a constant 60fps anyway. Plus you have the mouse aim and real servers up to 64 players.

Only thing is the majority of friends play 360 and the live experience can be a little less lonley, the voice chat making it seem more sociable.

End of the day thou, I don't think I will ever be able to aim with a joypad. Halo is sat on the shelf unused and listening to yanks babbling does get boring eventually.

It does.

Get the 360 version - I reckon unless you've got a proper beefy gaming rig it isn't gonna run any similar to/better than the 360.

Keep the video running and prepare to feel a little uneasy when the realism video comes on. Apparently they got some real marines to come in and comment on the weapons and some suspect looking old guy tells us this is the kind of thing that goes on every day in real life...

WTF! This kind of great fun goes on every single day and people get payed for it? Do you think they will have me at my age and where do I sign? They have already convinced me what good allies they were in the first COD games so I have no quarms about helping out this time.

My 13 year old played it the other day and now wants to be a marine, hell killing has never been so darn good yeehaaw!

...

The Ps3/xbox comparisons on that video were virtually identical. The 'bog' section compares well witht he PC, in fact I think the PC could have the edge...

Although I've never really liked present day shooters and the like due to not really liking shooting America's perceived enemies - cannae bring myself to play Vietnam games, this is shit hot...

Graphics are incredible, gameplay equally so. Just got up to the level used in the demo. The preceeding few levels certainly make you feel a lot more confident about using weapons etc.

Great stuff.

By comparison, I also played the new FEAR expansion pack today, which, whilst repetative has some great combat. To be honest, CoD4 is head and shoulders above it.

The frenetic combat of CoD4 is excellent, whilst FEAR is pedestrian.

Man I want a new console...:(

I have it on my desk looking at me waiting to be taken home and installed. The last game I got excited about was probably WoW Burning Crusade and before that San Andreas...

I like the way the lt. in the marines missions basically quotes Apone from Aliens and the SAS dude is Don Beech from the Bill (and whoever in Eastenders).

The multiplayer is freaking awesome... got the fully upgraded M16 - im surgical with it.. but I have a long way to go.. dakka dakka :D :D

All Gillied up is probably the best level of a computer game I've played.. ever?

Basically sneaking around dressed as a sniper...

And the USMC one preceding it was

My mate emailed me to say its great. Bought it lunchtime. Waiting with baited breath to try it.

Brought it on Sunday but was a bit to pissed to get into it. I managed the basic training and started the mission on the ship but just got horribly lost and ended up running in circles. I think I may have to stick to sober gaming.

Well so far its pretty awesome. The sound effects are brill. Wish I had my surround sound set up as its supposed to be even better with that (still in boxes from my move).

just done those missions , youre right when playing the usmc one i was like FUUUUUUCKKKK!!!!! and that hasnt really happend to me in a game before ,

cor, it's a bit good innit? Just up to the bit where I'm carrying around a wounded sniper after taking out some General with a 2km sniper shot (or something). Jeez it's nice looking - like being in a dodgy Bruckhiemer film. Got a right stress sweat on.

It's turning out to be a truly excellent game - so much variety, and neatly done too. The AC130 mission was genius - other games would have done that as a half baked minigame.

Just finished it. That's got to be one of the best games I've ever played - certainly the most cinematic.

Oh, and make sure you watch the credits right through to the end!!
