Cakes.....in general

Oh don't get me started on cake! I eat them every day if you count things like angel delight, snickers spread on toast, scones, maltloaf, crumble, rice pudding and icecreams as cakes. Some biscuits are actually cakes too imo. Pontifrect cakes are NOT cakes and I don't like cherry bakewells



I need some clarification on this image:

Is this a bad photo of standard battemburg or is the contrasting sponge brown? Does this mean it's chocolate? I need to know.

Scones = cake
Maltloaf = debatable
Crumble = not cake
Rice Pudding = not cake. It's got "pudding" in it's name, ffs
Ice-cream = not cake.

An apple tart is not a cake... it's a tart, which is a pie without a lid.
