Caitlin Moran: how to start – and win – an argument online

I'm surprised she didn't mention the most popular way to win an argument on the internet: write "End Of!".
 
The most liked poster on the boards, CRI, averages almost 4 likes per post. That's quite extraordinary until you check their posting history and see that they only post images, and stuff about cats and puppies.

Perhaps you should give that a go, Pickers, be the first to 100,000 likes.

I know CRI irl, though, and every one of those likes is well deserved :)

The best wins are when your opponent stops posting on the thread that you were arguing on but is still clearly active on several others, OR starts calling you "cunt", "wanker", "tory" .... etc.

TBF most people slip "wanker" into posts aimed at you, but purely affectionately, of course! :p
