Butthole Surfers Dates <sex wee>

I'd not seen them live before. Have listened to some of their stuff as played to me by friends so I didn't really no what to expect.

It was very very hot in there and that my have dampened my own experience but it did seem to missing the edge it needed.

They sounded really tight but it wasn't loud or crazy or chaotic enough.

The rest of the crowd seemed pretty tame too apart from a few pockets.

People seemed to be just bobbing around not jumping and smashing it up as the music should warrant.

I had a good night but have had a lot better,

Hey ho

:)

I thought they were fantastic last night. Sound was a bit iffy, true, but the band were on fantastic form and the way the kids slowly took up more and more of the stage (and the playing) was cool. I could have written the setlist myself, it was so perfect.

Even bought one of those CDs of the gig you were just at jobbies..

I had a fuckin good time,
was moshing about a bit. got very hot in there,
got through about six pints in there very quickly.
They tore through the more rocking songs and didn't get drawn
into the more psychedelic ones for too long, a bit of a rush thru jimi...
however it was satisfying to see them at long long last.
I think I missed a gig in 1988 at the mean fiddler and twenty years on I get to see them...

My friend stood at the back and watched the movies, said that they was a lot of really messed up
stuff. I missed all that as I was in the thick of the crowd, though I did see pictures of a body
next to a car where above the legs was just what looked like meat - nasty....

rock on BHS and happy birthday to the sweet sixteen year old girls you sick bastardssss

yes, it was tamer than i expected but i thought they were fucking fantastic! i loved the fact that gibby had absolutely no whiff of rock star wanker about him - from the fact that he set up his own stuff 10 minutes before actually coming on stage, to the huge array of teenage kids on stage.

no they didn't terrify me (always thought gibby was pretty scary back in the day) but then, i didn't go there trying to pretend it was 1991 again. Gibby's in his 50's for fucks sake, of course it wasn't going to be 'the same' whatever that means.

regardless, i had a fucking great time and thought the crowd was mega friendly!

could have done without that footage of poor african kids being circumcised though!!
