Those people of Wigan and Bolton may know their pies (I've had a fair few there) but they've missed the mark with this one. Give me a proper saltfish pattie, spiced up and full of flavour anyday.
Was butter rationed in the North till recently or something. Was they just called this to differentiate them from the inferior 'Hydrogenated Vegetable Spread' pies served in the NE....
