Bush protest banned by Fuzz

You go out and try and organise yourself a national demo of 50,000 people in defence of pensions. I'd genuinely like to see you try.
If I actually wanted to affect policy (as opposed to merely feeling like I was doing "something/anything") then organising a demo is the last thing I'd do! ;)

My point isn't really about the popularity of certain issues, but rather the importance of them to the people Respect etc claim to represent (altho I do still think more people care about social policies than they do about the Iraq war)

Are you seriously trying to tell me that the Iraq war is a more important issue than British social policies for the working class of the UK?

most people I meet these days only want to repeat completely fabricated stories about immigrants!:( (exaggeration obviously, but it makes my point.)

That's not very good example now is it? Just so happens that the leader of the pensioners' lobby happens to be left wing!

People view the various left groups as single issue groups who care more about what's happening to people in other countries than they care about what happens to people in this country. George Galloway is the de facto leader of these groups and all he cares about is kissing the arse of Islamic fundamentalists so he can win a seat in the house of commons! Hardly the best advertisement for socialism is it?!

It is a very good example of how somebody from the left is prepared to put their principles where their mouth. He's an old bugger too.

The important point is, why aren't more pensioners themselves standing up for their pension rights? Why aren't thousands of the disabled marching and organising for themselves? Why aren't the the working class working for change for themselves? Why all this clamour for some small lefty group, or other (mostly run ragged in many campaigns as it is) to do it for them?

No Fucker will answer that , I guarantee. This catholic guilt complex, masquerading as politics on urban 75 completely does my head in.

Has anyone ever done that?
why do you IWC lot always ask questions, but never give answers? you are like a fucking cult!:D

So come on bigwig, what do you think of your comrades comments?:D:D

(Wait for it, wait for it, "he's no comment of mine, I am an island".)

Only absolute fruitloops would say the swp are nazis. I don't recall seeing this shit on here before. Most criticisms of the swp are valid. This one is not.

although technically you are a national organisation, you claim to be socialists and you are a political party

so you are in fact a national socialist party

i've put his comment here, because surely if he isn't a hypocrite he would have made these comments himself.

I hope you aren't going top start following me around, it'll be very boring indeed for everyone.

As I said before, I would assume you are capable of defending yourself, but it appears you are not. Quite pathetic.

Anyway, I'm sorry for completely derailing this thread. It was just a rant I wanted to get off my chest. It's just this country is headed for serious economic problems and it's the working classes that will feel it most. It just gets to me when these groups seems more concerned about the Iraq war than they do about the coming economic crisis...
its a badly informed opinion though isn't it?
Industrial.
There is some exciting stuff going on at the moment industrially. One of the main news items is the probable strike over pay by Shell tanker drivers starting Friday morning. If this happens, we need to get to the picket lines with the SW leaflet that went out earlier today
Also12,000 maintenance workers on Network Rail have a 2 day strike planned over conditions and job cuts, starting 12.00 on Saturday. And there is also the possibility of nearly a million Unison members striking over the pay freeze. We can has strikes… As well, this week the GMB has decided to cut funding to Labour and the CWU is going to ballot its members over Labour party funding!

The industrial leaflet this week isn’t just about the Shell strike; it is relevant to almost any workplace. Issues like inflation and pay are increasingly in the headlines and in people’s heads, so we really need to make sure that we don’t let workplace sales slip. Every branch should be doing at least one workplace sale a week. They don’t have to be very long sales, and can be done with only a couple of comrades (students have finished their exams now so they may be able to help) - so if your branch isn’t doing one please raise it in your next branch meeting. Also this week, please take UAF demo flyers to any workplace sales.

Seems to have touched a nerve with some then :hmm::D

Yes, that's right - because I'm an SWP supporter! My God! You're so intuitive!

For what it's worth I can't stand the SWP and was a member for about six months, eight years ago.

But seriously know one can actually think that drivel on Smokedout's shite blog is anything other than tiresome at best.
