I get the bus to uni because

a) I can't afford to run a car as a student
b) Even if I had a car, I risk getting done for DUI because of the drugs I take for my illness
c) It's not environmentally friendly.

:p
Lady Margaret Twatcher OM* wishes to inform equationgirl that she is extremely disappointed in her, and that according to the Conservatives, she is a failure twice over and a tree-hugging hippy to boot. She is disgusted to hear that you are not working 60 hours a week on top of your studies to earn the money to buy a car - and as for being ill, she assumes you do have private health insurance? :p

Anyone who uses a motor vechile instead of walking to get to work in central Bristol is, IMO, plain lazy.

When I worked in central Bristol, I used to live about seven miles outside.. fucked if I was going to walk seven miles into work every day!

To be fair to the old witch, in that quote she was talking specifically about men.

So I'm not a loser after all! :p

Presumably, because in Thatcherland, women don't work.... maybe she could have adapted it to something like

"if you're not taking your kids to school in a 4x4, you are a failure"

Thazza knows what failure feels likes

as this flattering portrait from 1992 shows.

Those in possession of a concessionary pass, or over 60, will soon be able to travel anywhere in Scotland on the bus, FREE.
