bus fares

I live centrally so I haven't the foggiest  The last time I took a bus anywhere was when I lived in brighton and they were a very reasonable £2.60 for an all day travelcard thing.

I live in Zone 6 and round here there are no Oyster shops - the nearest is three miles away. As I am not working at the moment the only transport I use is the bus to get to the shops and supermarket (I am in the middle of nowhere!).

£4 is far too much for a round trip to the shops but to top up a Pay as you go Oyster is a six mile round trip out of my way.

But you appear to have access to the internet so you could do it online couldn't you? which is in fact how I do it despite the fact I live round the corner from at least three.

Look, my point with all this is that there are plenty of reasons to hate Oyster but not these, these are trivial, pointless and fractured any anti-oyster movement to the point where we now appear to be stuck with it.

But I am not working. I can't afford to put shed loads on an Oyster card just to go to the bloody shops.

Well the bus is capped at £3 per day for oyster, so your last bus ride of the day is free if your commute involves 2 buses each way.

When you are on £52 a week, a tenner is a lot in one go for going to the supermarket once a week.

You can also get a book of 6 bus saver tickets for six quid.

I have to say it's surprising that there aren't any oyster shops within three miles. I would have thought that would be worth taking up with TFL. Having introduced the oyster scheme, they ought to ensure that everyone can have reasonable access to buying top-up.

FFS!

Yes, there is a £3 deposoit on an Oyster but Jesus, 3 bus journeys in london and you ALREADY have that in and from then on its pure savings!

TfL is even pushing tourists to get Oyster now and they are.

I almost can't believe there is "anyone" who still pays £2 for a bus journey in London.
Someone on a low income should somehow save 3 quid to get on the scheme, it really is a no brainer.
