Don't ever buy cookware from Ikea mind - it's bound to be crap. Cheap saucepans for heating maybe, but outside of that it's pretty poor.

I'd have to disagree with this. My large Ikea pans, those 5l & 3l jobbies, are really pretty damn good. I've had them for at least 6 years now and don't really look like I've been using them that long. I got them specifically cos they didn't have plastic handles so I could whack them straight from the hob into the oven.

I've got exactly the same one and it only cost £4 from the Notts Ikea. I burnt a load of sugar onto it about a month ago, but didn't have all these handy cleaning hints so I chucked it out and bought a new one.
