Only in those western nations where the population is fed a daily diet of bullshit dressed up as 'news','facts' and 'information'. There is also the fact that the education system perpetuates ignorance: many US public schools have textbooks that are, in some cases, over 30 years out of date. History is treated in an off-hand fashion....I could go on.

Of course those Americans who see through this and think 'outside the box' are sidelined by the reactionaries; who, while not exactly in the majority, have created the illusion that they are the dominant culture.
