Dubai is megalomania at it's finest and in fact violating the rule of modesty, but that is not so very often in people's minds.

He has this old money/new money hang up. He comes from old money - inherited capital take-it-for-granted rich and socially priveleged. It is even more a question of intention behind all these projects: to overclass everyone else and it's not even intended to serve as places of worship, like some mega mosques (also more a PR for local rulers than anything else). Even worse: It's mostly intended to accommodate non-Muslims among which the largest group has no clue about Islam and couldn't care less about Islamic Law and Tradition.

Like I said: some structures and projects are very interesting up to beautiful from architectural point of view. That is the only thing where my interest goes to.

Much things related to religious practices and taken for religion come down to superstition. It's not exactly my task to clean the world from such deviations. I can only do it if I see it happen and people are open for a lecture

I don't suppose you want a lecture on religion? On superstition? On history of sociological developments affecting them?
It's an interesting subject and you find more parallels to so called "secular" societies then you would think.
