Burial

uhhhh 2005 south london boroughs i was djing this back in '05 and it was pretty fresh stuff, the formula hasn't changed much. As for who it is, i've an acquaintance who engineers for him, but i'd imagine he probably does alot more than that being a producer himself. It's odd how remarkably well behaved the music press have been on him, the tabloids would have slapped his pic on the front page.

Ok but that doesn't make it "so 2005". His most important release was in 2007.

I don't wanna know who he is....it would suck if it was just some guy with a computer from South London.....or Kode9 making the whole thing up.

I've only just been put onto this by a mate and have been pretty fucking blown away. So used to hearing so much mediocre music lately.
Trying to download the albums but mininova isnt yielding much anyone know a good site?
'Archangel' must been one of the best tunes to come out of the UK for a long time....

Burial were really good, the 80's Oi/ska band from East Yorkshire that is. I suspect any band not clever enough to think of their own name would be shite though

Oh my fucking god.

Just heard Burial's remix of Commix - Be True. Which is one of my favourite modern dnb tracks.

Although it sounds nothing like the original it is still unspeakably good.:cool:

I have a link if anyone's interested, not sure if i'm allowed to post it or not?

Please post link! I need to hear that!

Why would that suck? It almost certainly is the case.

Turns out it is just a kid called Will Bevan from South London.

What does everyone think of his new tune 'Unite' by the way? I love it, can't wait to hear the new EP.

What put me off Burial was when I read a comment on the Guardian blog that said, "you can really here the gritty streets of south london and the beauty of the monster".

FUCK OFF YOU TIKI FLOORED, IKEA SHELVING, HUMOUS SCOFFING, CROC WEARING, HEMP WALLETED, DAVID GRAY LISTENING, BUDDHA FIGURE COLLECTING, MAKE POVERTY HISTORY, PIECE OF SHIT!

I like Burial though.

Have you read his interview in the Wire? He sounds like a top bloke, very down to earth, really loves his old jungle and stuff.

Yeh, it was ace. There was a real nostalgia for a rave era he missed out on and only got second hand through - was it an older brother?

Yeah his older brother. He seems to just absolutely love the music, he translates that so well into his own music.
