I asked yesterday if someone could come around to inspect the damage and see exactly what needs to be done, but was told this wasn't possible, that the sub-contractors would 'make good' and I should wait until it's done before I make further contact with them.

Would it help if you mention you will be getting in touch with your MP about this? Might speed the twats up??
I mentioned suing my local council when they said a repair would get done within the next two weeks, suddenly the man could come out the next day.

I could ask boy if he still needs his GBA, he's got the next one now.

Bad news, hadn't heard of many burglaries around the Junction lately, just daily car break-ins. Hope you get it all sorted soon.

Oh thanks geminisnake , but as it happened, they acually took his old one, which was really lucky.
We were really lucky in respect to what they took.

It's just the hole in my flat that's getting to me.

BUt, I've decided to not get myself wound up about it, wait 'till the sub-contracters come, and see how they do.

After all, if the council had acted promptly on my reporting the downstairs intercom was broken, this burglary might not have happened...
